Between Pitt, Penn State, and WVU....combined 11-11. And from a week ago until now, I'd say both Pitt and PSU fans may view their teams now and in the future differently. Between PSU's sanctions and Pitt's coaching carousel, neither roster was exactly equipped to be all that great this season, but Penn State beat Michigan, Pitt started 4-2, some optimism entered in our minds, but perhaps back to reality.
Penn State lost to Ohio State by 50, and lost to Indiana. Pitt lost to Navy, and squeaked by Old Dominion. Neither team is very good, that is my honest assessment.
Pitt sits at 4-3, with a likely embarrassing loss coming at the hands of an average Georgia Tech Saturday. They may play ND tough, and they're only hopes at a bowl are beating UNC and Syracuse, because they aren't beating Miami.
Penn State sits also at 4-3, Illinois and Purdue are their best bets at wins. The other 3 are tough. @Minnesota and @Wisconsin won't be easy. Nebraska is overrated, but still is a better team than Penn State.
I roped WVU into the mix because they are just as local, and just as bad. Holgorsen is a loose cannon and an overrated offensive coach. I'd say his seat will continue to get warmer. They can probably beat Kansas and Iowa State, I don't know about TCU and Texas, but doubtful I would say.

Here we go! The same old BS from Moldy. I thought things were really starting to change, there have been some good discussions on here lately. Now it's back to Moldy and his crap.

Hey, just tell me anything I just said that wasn't true. Kirk started with Chryst's dull personality, and it went from there.
Re: How bad have College Football teams in the Northeast bec
I don't think one person saying a negative trait of a coach is what is required to open the flood gates and rip each other again...O'Brein may be too firey at times and Chryst is too dull all the time. That statement doesn't mean let's just go back to our old ways because "someone said something about our coach first." How old are we here?
I think all coach asked for is common sense. We don't need to trade back and forth the same old BS banter for 30+ pages in every thread regarding college football. Does that mean we can never say anything negative about another coach? No. Just post stuff that isn't redundant and adds to the conversation, rather than posting what would get the biggest reaction.

Well then you can forget about Moldy, his posts are about as redundant as they get and they add absolutely nothing to any conversation.
Back to the conversation, I think PSU will be fine now that some scholarships have been given back and BOB will be able to get more talent in there. It may take another year or two but they will be fine, probably never an elite program, but they will consistently be ranked years down the road. You could see the talent gap during that game Sat. Being a OSU fan I hope Meyer stays a long time, but with him you never know. Can't comment on Pitt, because I have not watched them yet this year, never seem to be on TV when I am able to watch.
Another question, does anyone think Meyer tried an on-side kick right before the half Saturday. I honestly don't think he did, but a buddy of mine watched a replay the next day and noticed a couple OSU players cutting that way, from the opposite side of the field right before he kicked the ball. What is everyone's thoughts?

I did not think he kicked onsides. I thought the kicker squibbed the ball poorly. I'm not sure where kicking onsides with 5 seconds left, only to have a hell mary opportunity makes sense.
Re: How bad have College Football teams in the Northeast bec
Didn't anyone see Meyer being interviewed on his way to the halftime locker room, when the girl reporter asked him about the onside kick right before time ran out?? He emphatically stated that it WASN'T an onside kick, but it was a squib kick that the kicker missed hitting properly. He seemed a little miffed by the question.

Didn't see it Moldy, was at the game. By the way, what coach would admit to it if they did onside kick with that kind of lead? Also, I didn't think it was, but was just asking because a friend said it looked like it might have been.
