What is your favorite piece of sports memorabilia?

Post by Coach »

I would have to say mine is a football I got signed for my son by Bill O'Brien. Up til the point of having my own son, I would say my favorite piece was a baseball I caught at the all star workout day at Three Rivers in 94.

Hmmm I have a few, from a lemiux signed picture to a polamalu signed jersey. Though I would have to go with a football I got signed by the all the Pittsburgh steelers the year after Superbowl XL. Just how classy all of the guys were to me and my family was unbelievable

Signed field level photo of James Harrison running back the interception in Super Bowl 43. Fitzgerald is going for the strip at about the 10 yard line. Photo taken from back of end zone.

All of my old photos and jerseys from playing sports and my kid's sports photos

1955 Topps Roberto Clemente Rookie. Professionally appraised/graded at PSA 5.

Most recent sales on ebay for the same card have been between $1,000-$1,700.

Bought it for my sons for Christmas in 2003 from a person in Buffalo, NY. Total cost at the time: $512.

Pretty good investment, but infinite sentimental value.

Also have several other prominent rookie cards (Nolan Ryan, Tom Seaver, Don Sutton, Bill Mazeroski, Cal Ripken, Joe Montana, and SFU's own Maurice Stokes.)

Have a few great pictures of my children with:

Jamie Dixon
Shady McCoy
Larry Fitzgerald
Andrew McCutchen
Troy Palomalu

Also have a personally autographed pic of NB's own AJ Nastasi putting up the shot which netted him the PA HS boys' hoops scoring record.

My Larry Fitzgerald signed football. I was able to attend the Pitt team banquet when I was 13, and I got Larry to sign it for me in person. Larry has and always will be my favorite athlete. A true professional, and really freaking good at football.

Jack Ham is a family friend (and PSU tailgate buddy) so I have a ton of stuff from him. Personally autographed Kevin Harvick rookie year in Busch series poster, Danbury Mint Beaver Stadium replica of 1999 stadium, and a video of me doing laps inside a nascar at Bristol...

Sports do give you a ton of memories...

I can share my most prized items that were lost (destroyed by my genius parents storage of my stuff when I was at school).. I had 2 ,a ball glove signed by Kent Tekulve , Dave Parker, pops, and John Milner.. Which I was told lost. And an autograph book that had Mel Blount, Shell, Webster, Swann, Bennie Cunningham from 78 steelers . It also had Bill Bergy,Wilbert Montgomery, and Harold Carmichael.... It was mildewed and damaged so bad you couldn't make out any of the signatures
As for what I have now, it'd have to be not so much my kids trophies, but being able to be there to watch them earn them
