Aaron Donald has won the Rotary Lomardi Award awarded to the nation's best linebacker/defensive lineman. He becomes the second Panther to win the award after Hugh Green did it in 1980. He beat out UCLA's Anthony Barr, Alabama's CJ Mosley, and Missouri's Michael Sam.

Donald 3 for 3 so far.

1. ACC Defensive POY
2. Bronko Nagurski Award
3. Rotary Lomardi Award

Tomorrow is a big night.

Aaron Donald wins the Bednarik award as the nation's top defensive player.

4/4 National awards, plus the ACC Defensive POY.

What a season.

Playing poker today with a seahawk fan. Says he wants to give up to get a pick for clowney. I responded with, "have you ever heard of Aaron Donald?" He said no. Told him he'll know tonight, save trade idea for Donald and not risky clowney

Two completely different players, but Donald is a class act through and through. He put up End numbers as an interior guy. His season was simply remarkable on any level, and he's deserved every accolade that has come and will come his way.

I believe Seattle drafted Jordan Hill last year in the middle rounds. Hill was a really good player in high school at Steel High, and I think he did pretty well at Penn State too. No idea if he's done anything for Seattle this year, though.

Donald will be a good player in the NFL. He's strong and quick, and he's the type of player that will overcome the measurables like a Geno Atkins or Elvis Dummervill. Donald has a knack for getting after the QB, he'll find his way in this league.

Being slightly undersized where would fit best...interior of a 4/3 scheme or DE of a 3/4 scheme?

I remember everyone saying Brian Orakpo was undersized, too. Some guys just have the "it" factor and Donald is one of those guys. He'll have success in the NFL, but he'll have to earn his respect in the league just like Orakpo did. It's never a bad thing to go into the league with a chip on your shoulder.
