Wait you claim the line isn't good but when you fire the coach of the line its a crime? Ever think those players are not bustes but there is poor line coaching?
The real problem with our line is every other game a linemen gets a serious injury

Bicknell was voted 2013 offensive line coach of the year konjo? I still think the line is in need of major adjustments, but that bicknell was incredible. He took a bunch of no names and made them relevant. Once again konjo, do you know anything about this topic? Did you even know who bicknell was before I said his name? Doubt itkonjo78 wrote:Wait you claim the line isn't good but when you fire the coach of the line its a crime? Ever think those players are not bustes but there is poor line coaching?

I know as you previously stated the line gives up way too many sacks.... Usually a coach is a strong reason behind that! Yes I know who he is but you can't use the line, our offensive line sucks, and then say that the coach is the best thing since slice bread.....
If there wasn't so many sacks as you pointed out he'd probably still have a job. But hey its OK to complain about one thing and then complain when they look to change things up....
Such a hyproctical fan you are. Do me a favor and stop supporting the steelers because people like you make our fan base look stupid

He is the best thing since sliced bread? They gave up over 30 sacks in the first 9 games and in the last 7 they gave up less than 10, that's improvement, that's good coaching. Those guys, Cody Wallace, beachum, foster none of those guys should not start next year. I did say the line was bad, because it was, but it improved because of improv, on the fly coaching. Those guys are not consistently going to start next year, they were all back up guys who were situationly enough. I never went back on my statement saying the line was awful, because they still are, did they improve? Yes! But all because if coaching which was the exact point of this post! I'm a hypocrite? At least I don't change who my favorite team is every single year, you're a real good fan konjo! Keep it up!konjo78 wrote:I know as you previously stated the line gives up way too many sacks.... Re: What would be the first change you'd make on the Steeler
Lol I never change my team..... Steelers gold and black every Sunday! Where my jerseys out in seabird land where they hate the steelers because of XL. I know there was improvement and i am not saying that the coach should of been let go. My only problem was you complained about the line then when a change was made you complained they made a change.
As for the tomlin haters.... Tomlin drafted their best linemen in awhile but unfortunately our center has been destroyed by injuries. Tomlin has brought in people like antonio brown, sanders, Wallace, bell, Dwyer, most of the new dline ( except for keisel). He has done a great job in my opinion, we just have gaps now to fill on defense because the solid players are now at the end of their career.

Re: What would be the first change you'd make on the Steeler
I did complain about the line because it was the problem, and I did complain about the change because it was the wrong one. Once again konjo, the coaching isn't what needed changed, it's the player/personnel. They should have kept bicknell (the 2013 off line coach of the year) and then drafted a lineman. But they aren't going to do that. They're most likely going to waste a draft pick on a player they don't need. Just like they do every year. Lol, look where drafting Wallace and Dwyer, got them! And btw Your same argument of saying I have gone back on my statement is false, so come up with something else I can prove wrong konjo, please!konjo78 wrote:Lol I never change my team..... Re: What would be the first change you'd make on the Steeler
Today's NFL isn't what it was, besides the obvious things we all gripe about.. When they translate to X's and O's it comes down to schemes.. You don't always need to change coaches, but they need to adapt and adjust or change schemes. Zone blocking has neutralized lebeaus blitzes...they keep drafting same type DBS and lbs and they aren't playing the way they used to

I too believe that lebeau has become less and less effective over the years.
Re: What would be the first change you'd make on the Steeler
As a general rule, schemes that worked 5 years ago, won't work as well now, same as schemes now, won't work as well in another few years. I agree adaptability is the key word. I also agree we will all bemoan whoever they draft, because we all know better than they do. ;)
It ain't over until it's over.
