Re: 10 game road trip for the Pirates
Yep, Josh Harrison is a .260 type bench hitter not a .300 hitter all star game, I knew this day would come.
My big thing is,
1. This is a two-game losing streak, after a very good home stand. It isn't a huge deal like Twitter is making it out to be,
2. It wasn't Morel, Martinez, or Frieri's fault for these two losses. That would go to the big bats like Cutch, Walker, and Martin. They can't make average lefties look like Clayton Kershaw anymore. That's on them.
I think they need an arm in the pen. I could live with an extra starter. They probably need to upgrade the bench a little.

Yes it is only a two game losing streak so a little perspective should be applied, but it is also against a team that came into this series with the worst record in the National League and a losing record at home. Coming off such a successful homestand one would have expected more than 9 hits and 2 gimme runs in the last two games.
if they are to have any chance of making the playoffs, these are the games the Bucs need to win.
I find the fact that there are so many differences of opinion what the Pirates need to address at the trade deadline as an indication that this team still has a lot of weaknesses.

Coach is spot on IMO, and I'd take a slightly different approach to this years deadline. I'd target a Tyson Ross type pitcher, he would help in the immediate, but not get this team over the hump this year... But a year or two from now, you roll out Cole, Ross, Tallion, Morton , Locke/Heredia..... You have the National leagues dominant rotation....

Heredia is a lot more than a year or 2 away. Kingham and Glasnow are the two I'd keep an eye on. I'd like to see them add Ian Kennedy and still think they are capable of making a run but as mentioned above the everyday guys can't make mediocre pitchers look like Clayton Kershaw!
You play to win the game!!!

Yeah Heredia has been passed up big time. Glasnow is the biggest name in the system right now.

Seems to me JHay's hits have been fewer but all still big... RBI today... 2 in last game in at home

Kennedy scratched from start due to oblique strain

Harrison showed off his game last night. What an outstanding performance!!! He really is a spark plug for this team.
Next up is a series vs the Giants. Worley goes tonight and the Giants were just swept by the Dodgers. I won't freak out if they only get 1 of 3. After all the odds would have it that way. Let's hope for a win in game one of this set!

Giants are throwing 3 good pitchers, and the Bucs offense has been quiet for the past few days. They are going to need to grind out these games in San Fran.
