Re: Scrimmage Reports - Week One
I only got to see the first 20 plays or so from both PL and Mo valley but it was pretty one sided from what I saw. Syster broke off a couple long runs in his few carries for PL and they were able to run what ever they wanted with success because the OL was getting a big push up front. Mo Valley struggled to get anything going on offense due to PL getting a lot of penetration up front.
Re: Scrimmage Reports - Week One
West Branch had 17 kids for scrimmage with Heights. Definitely a candidate not to finish the year.
Re: Scrimmage Reports - Week One
I thought West Branch was moving 9th graders up?

NBC used motion on almost every play, and really mixed up the point of attack well. Elias Brallier had some nice runs for the panthers.
Re: Scrimmage Reports - Week One
Also good points made by ramfan.. A lot of offense defense is probably not shown. This brings up a good conversation point though too... Do you believe it is best practice to run your plays regardless of being scouted so that you know your teams strengths or to keep most of it in for the element of surprise? Some teams will line up and run their traditional schemes while others don't show much. Its always good to have those few formations and plays that no one has seen but Im curious to see what everyone thinks on this? Also @pldragons yes I heard pl did well against mo Valley could easily contend this year for the heritage. How is mo Valley projected? Does west branch only have 17 with 9th grade? Ashame to see numbers so low but enrollments are declining.

From what I hear mo valley is one of the teams that should be competing for one of the last playoff spots. They have a pretty talented qb. He's pretty quick

Eric Sherkel from Mo Valley is very good, they will be in contention for the playoffs for sure. The ICC silver has a lot of question marks behind Tussey.
Re: Scrimmage Reports - Week One
I think there are only 3 or 4 of them on the roster. A lot of their good athletes either don't play or are on the Philipsburg-Osceola soccer team -- the defending 2-time D-6 AA champs. They're one of the bigger Class A schools but just don't have the interest, which is sad because they used to be really goodCoach wrote:I thought West Branch was moving 9th graders up?

From looking at their schedule it's definitely front loaded. If they could manage to go 2-3 to start the season I think they have the talent to possibly win out from there. It's gonna be tough for them to get in
