top 10 PIAA D6A Rankings week: 4

Post by konjo78 »

1. Bishop Guilfoyle - No reason to move them yet as they have won another game.
2. Homer Center - won against northern cambria pretty handily.
3. Portage - Won huge against winber. Have a huge test coming up. This is their measuring stick to how good the really are.
4. Blairsville - Dominated purchase line. The first step for this team to finally living up to expectations.
5. Bellwood - Good chance they are better than 5 but they'll move up the standings once other teams start falling.
6. Penns Manor - A blow out win for them against lower competition. We will figure out soon if they are top tier level
7. Williamsburg - The pirates started to trend up last year and now may become a playoff team that can upset a team.
8. marion center - they have played some weak teams but maybe marion center can sneak into the playoffs this year with momentum they are gaining.
9. Bishop Mccort - They lost but they are still a strong 1-2 team. if they make the playoffs they can potentially make a semi final run.
10. Cambria Heights - They are 1-2 but they may still be a strong team. A new comer to the A division is stuck in a terrible conference for them. They are still going to have the chance to pull of a winnings season and make the playoffs.

The first five are no question the top 5 teams, some may change the order around a little.

I've been ranking them
1. BG
2. Portage
3. Bellwood
4. Blairsville
5. Homer Center

Beyond that, I think Penns Manor is a step below, but they are firmly #6.

So that leaves 2 playoff spots for 19 teams.

We need another week or two to see where the dominoes fall, but I suspect another Heritage team makes the cut, and another ICC.

I would agree with Crimson, except I would reverse Portage and Bellwood. Doesn't appear to matter the way BG is mowing through their schedule
