Actually State College represents a better geographical center. But Beaver Stadium is more than likely off limits.

I think that you have to include Chestnut Ridge in this discussion. They have won a ton of games since 2000, including several playoff games

If memory serves me correct one state final was played at Beaver stadium it was a AAAA game, before they played them all at the same site.

Playoff Games? or Playoff Game?... D5 by itself does not offer fair enough competition for 3 or 4 AA schools. If they would have won when it was d5/6AA like Bedford has in the past then I would include them. Although Bedford has also had some historic playoff busts in those same years.

Winning games is great but unless I am missing the point this is about the best program since 2000.

Portage has won a ton of games and a few playoff games since 2000. With all due respect to Chestnut Ridge and Portage whose programs I respect and really do a great job year in and year out, no way do they belong on this list. Tyrone Bellwood, Forest Hills and a few others are on another level

Yeah the topic is about the best program since 2000, and with all due respect to some programs, I think it's really about Tyrone, Forest Hills, McCort, Carroll, and Bellwood. It's up to you how you put them in order, but it's those 5. Period.

Since 2000 in A
Bellwood - 4
Carroll - 5
McCort - 2
The Field - 3 (Windber, Penns Manor, Homer Center)

Since 2000 in AA
Tyrone - 4
Forest Hills - 4
McCort - 3
Central - 2
Richland - 1

Ridge and Bedford did spend some time in the D6 Playoffs before, but never won one in those instances. I believe 2004 Bedford was 9-0 ranked 1 and lost to Central Cambria the 8 seed at home.

And the years they didn't play with D6, I'm not sure they would have won it if they were.

Portage has never won D6, and only made it to the finals once.

I agree there's a ton of solid programs like Portage or Ridge and Bedford ect... They just don't belong in a discussion about being the best program since 2000.

I think the best improved team is Penns Manor. From a cellar dweller for many years to a solid program. D6 title with a state quarterfinal game.
