You keep mentioning tackles as a stat that should be focused on. First of all DEs are never among the leaders in tackles, it doesn't happen. There isn't a single DE among the top 60 in tackles. Then u say the stats Miller and Ware are putting up are so much better than Watt. Guess what...Watt has double the tackles Ware has and more than Miller as well. So which is it tackles are a stat we should focus on or Miller and Ware's stats are twice as good???
You play to win the game!!!

What?

Watt doesn't have to make plays to have an impact. Its the same with him as it was with Polamalu a few years ago. The offense has to worry about him EVERY SNAP, and that leads to other things being neglected. A double team on Watt means its 3v3 across the rest of the line

Stats that are game changing? Maybe defensive TDs...he has a few.

Or the fact that he is the only player in the league with a sack and a fumble recovery in the same game multiple times this year. Those seem like game changing stats to me. You can argue for the sake of arguing or being difficult all you want, but it's clear to anyone with an ounce of football knowledge that Watt is an elite player. He is constantly double and sometime triple teamed yet still is disruptive. You do not garner the respect he has among his peers and those within the game without having earned it. When the opposing team's number one concern in game planning for your defense is to somehow try to keep you under control, I'd say you are changing games.

anyone can fall on a ball but he still hasn't forced any fumbles... I was just flabbergasted someone on here said he's the leagues best player and MVP?! Like please don't try telling me a guy who 3-4 team and is on a defense that is ranked in the bottom half of the league is the Best player and MVP!!! Not when you have Murray, Manning, and handful of others who deserve those titles more.

JJ watt had 1 sack and 1 fumble recovery against the steelers and that was it. Ben was still able to pass, we were still able to run and our line is one of the worst in the league. This should of been a standout game for him but instead he just looked like a normal DE against the steelers.

Here is a great read on JJ Watt, he may not be on everyone's MVP shortlist but he's on mine and will be on a lot of people's.

What an incredible football player, and for my money, he's the best football player in the league. If I could start a team with any players right now it would be either Watt or Luck.

Yeah Crimson but he doesn't lead the league in tackles and its all media hype so he can't possibly be that good. Konjo may literally be only person in the USA that has this opinion of Watt. I'd actually like him to link an article not wrote by him that shares the same opinion.... Good luck.

I know this is kind of switching gears but how about Julio Jones? Is anyone else super impressed by this kid this year? I've watched him since his Alabama days; always thiught he was a freak athlete that was very versatile but never thought he could be a prospected MVP type player. IMO, I think Jones is the best receiver in the game right now, and possibly the best offensive player.

As for defense, yes it is Watt. Why this is an argument I have no idea. Konjo is not too far off by mentioning Earl Thomas as a contender but Thomas has a pretty good supporting cast that goes by the name of LOB that makes his job a thousand times easier. Ware in my opinion is Watt's second. With burflict and asomagh up there as well. My kind of defense is do whatever it takes, I don't give a **** what your stats are if you hold the opposing team under your teams point total then you have my immediate attention
