Duke at Pitt Open Game Thread
6-1 and 24th ranked Duke comes to Heinz Field to take on 4-4 Pitt. ESPNU at Noon.
Hard to say which team will show up for Pitt, they didn't play great last week, but literally handed the game to Georgia Tech. They need to take care of the ball better, and at least give themselves a chance in this one.
Duke is a good football team, and dating back to last season they are 16-5 in their last 21 games, but don't forget Pitt actually handed them one of those five losses.
I've been watching Pitt football for a long time, and this is the type of game they come out of nowhere and win.
I'll say Duke 38-27.

Still can't figure why Pitt is favored by Vegas.

That made no sense to me either. I have not seen 1 play from Duke this year, so I have no idea how good they are. I think if Duke's defense is at least decent they will win by 10. But, it's the ACC, so I fully expect Pitt to pull it out, then get blown out by UNC, beat Syracuse, and blown out by Miami. 6-6. I think we seen this somewhere before.

This is the type of game that Pitt will win. Coming off a terribly sloppy game last week they are a little more focused and impose their will on Duke. I really believe that Chryst goes back to what he loves this week and Conner runs it 30-35 times and it would not surprise me at all if he went over 200 yards. Admittedly I can't name one player on Duke's roster but I like Pitt to win in this spot.

Anthony Boone is their QB, he's pretty good. 6'1" 225 bowling ball of a QB.

This game was extremely Pitt-like. No other way to explain it.

When we move the clocks tonight, too bad we can't jump to November 14th. It's time for basketball.

I'm using the PSU excuse and sticking to it: Blame it on the officiating. If they wouldn't have called that obvious illegal shift against Duke in the 1st quarter, we would've won.
