Blairsville vs. BG
Re: Blairsville vs. BG
How many players that attended Penn Cambria have transferred to BG since Wheeler became the head coach?

When a school's name starts with "Bishop" it makes people uncomfortable when they have success. These BG kids grew up together and have been doing this for a long time, just like the BC basketball team last Winter. They deserve the accolades.

I see my response to BigBen7 was removed. You can remove me from this forum. If healthy conversion about different opinions are sensored that strict because someone may not agree with you then this is not a place for me. Enjoy you world you have created. Good Luck to all teams in D6........play hard and stay healthy.
Re: Blairsville vs. BG
Bigben, there aren't any kids who have attended PC who now attend BG on their current roster. I'm not on the staff or anything but BG is a small community and everyone pretty much knows everyone else and I'm fairly certain in saying that there are no PC kids, or any other kid who has ever attended another high school on their roster. There are a couple kids on the team who I don't know but I'm pretty sure in making this statement. If I'm wrong I'll certainly admit my mistake.
Similar to all the other teams in the playoffs they are just a group of young men who have worked hard, taken their lumps (many of the seniors saw game action as freshman on a 1-9 team that no one seemed to mind), and grown as a group. I would think that having kids do the things the right way, not quit when thing were tough, and have success should be celebrated locally. I know I feel that way, especially when it comes to local kids, not matter what school they go to. I had a lot of admiration for the BC basketball team last year and all they accomplished.

DRAGON YOU JUST MADE MY DAY!!!! I was censored twice last week for ASKING the details of an incident that WAS relevant to this forum AND was not critical of any one player. I have exchanged many PM's with others on here including other Admins. NOT ONE has disagreed with me EXCEPT the one that deleted my post because that is HIS SCHOOL!!!! I hope you read this fast before that admin deletes this!!! The admins on here do a great job overall, but when they start deleting because of personal feelings then they shouldn't be admins!!!!Dragoncat wrote:I see my response to BigBen7 was removed. I am not familiar with the Football program and I understand that this is the case. Theses kids have been together forever. Now, How about the girls Basketball team?????SFB14 wrote:Bigben, there aren't any kids who have attended PC who now attend BG on their current roster. Re: Blairsville vs. BG
This whole topic seems a bit premature. While BG seems to be a lock to reach the finals, Blairsville is definitely not. Portage is very strong and Mo Valley can get hot on offense and is on a roll. Odds say that it will be Blairsville, but don't bet your house on it. There is a lot more football to play in the next two weeks.
Re: Blairsville vs. BG
No one in D6A has an answer for all of BG's skill players. This game will be a blow out BG by 3 td's or moreDragoncat wrote:I would hope they are a power team. Blairsville proved what happens to record breaking finess teams last week. I was able to see BG play McCort a couple of weeks back and came away with the opinion that Blairsville has an answer for all of their skill players but they do not have a player like Burger (sp?). He will pose a problem but they match up everywhere else. I think if this game happens it will be much closer then everyone thinks. And remember, it really doesn't matter what any of us think, it only matters what the 42 band of brothers in Blairsville helmets think!!!!! The one strength they have that BG will never have is a bond that has been forged since 1st grade. This team is not assembled. If you guys in this forum have ever played on a true team where you are playing for each other you know what I am talking about and how powerful that is.
Re: Blairsville vs. BG
Dragoncat, please don't misunderstand what I'm saying. It isn't my intention to paint you with any kind of broad brush here. I respect your opinion and was just trying to say that this collection of BG kids has been together since elementary school. If you look at any of my other posts I'll never defend what happens with the girls basketball program at BG because I think it's ridiculous. The process is different with public/private schools and I say that as a guy who played 3 sports at a small class A public school and who has sent all 3 of his kids through a private school (BG). However, I think when a group of kids has done things the correct way as this group has I don't like to see their accomplishments diminished and I'd say that if it was a public or private school.
As for what the district is looking in to regarding the PC situation, I honestly have heard nothing about that until you brought it up here. If the coaches or anyone else has done anything wrong they should be punished accordingly. I do know there aren't any PC kids on BG's team now so I'm not sure what the issue is. I've always tried to be very fair when it comes to the public/private debate and think each team's situation should be looked on a case by case basis. I appreciate your opinion. Best of luck to your team in the upcoming play-offs.
