Yeah the whole thing konjo, you are the only one declaring him on the hot seat.

I can assure he isn't. I think you miss the point, in that maybe YOU FEEL he should be on the hot seat you can't say HE IS on the hot seat because of your feelings. Jamie Dixon's job is secure, that's not my own personal feeling that's just the truth or a fact.

I know you probably won't get that, but I can assure that's the truth; Pitt will never get ride of him as long as he makes the tournament consistently. Dixon's well liked at Pitt, he's going to be there as long as he wants to be. Many suspect he will take an administrative position at the school after coaching.

So again, you can say you think he would be on the hot seat, but you can't say that he is. You don't follow the program enough, and you don't know how the school or the fan base feels about him. You are just making claims off your own opinion, that's the difference.

Not sure why I'm defending a guy like Jamie Dixon to the most stubborn person on this website. And heck I'm not even defending the guy, I'm just saying Pitt won't ever get rid of him under his current pace. That's just a fact.

But back to actual basketball,

Pitt plays San Diego State tonight, they are ranked top 20 and they are very athletic. Great test for Pitt, win or lose its a valuable experience these next two games.

Penn State's toughest non-conference game is tonight at 7:30 at the BJC. There is still no word if Akron's 1st Team All-MAC selection Demetrouis Treadwell will be back from his indefinite suspension. Either way, Akron is the best program in the MAC and have a 3 year streak of 21+ wins. They put a smack down on USC in the a Charleston Classic and beat South Carolina in the 3rd place game.

If Penn State can find a way to win this one, they are setting up nicely for double digit non-conference wins. That would go a long way in getting them to a post season tournament. The B1G slate will just determine which one CBI, NIT, or NCAA.

For the few dozen people that have interest in watching this game tonight, 7:30 on ESPN3 or Watch ESPN App.

If they clean up their rebounding and avoid the slow start, they should be able to grind out a win.

Nice 78-72 comeback win by PSU tonight. Down 13 at the half. Newbill continues to carry the team with 29 points.
You play to win the game!!!

They've had slow starts in all but one game and it is a bit concerning, but a win is a win. The team as a whole played really well in the second half.

Pitt is getting embarrassed tonight. They don't look like a tourney team let alone a top half acc team

Very poor game by Pitt tonight, one of the worst games I can remember them playing in a long time, maybe ever. Just didn't look up to the task, San Diego State is better than Pitt, but the way they carried themselves was the disappointing thing. They just didn't compete from the under four minute of the first half.

Michael Young rolled his ankle on a drive to the lane, missed it, but Ryan Luther was able to get fouled on a putback attempt. After that timeout, Luther missed the foul shots and San Diego State went on a 9-2 run to close out the half, and that was pretty much it. Pitt played sloppy, looked lost on offense, and the defense continues to allow teams to shoot well. It's just not the Pitt basketball we are accustomed to seeing.

They absolutely miss Cameron Wright right now, and Durand Johnson getting suspended for the year didn't help matters. They have time to figure it out, but they have played poorly these first five games. Need to get better, that's all it is.

That's exactly why i think Dixon is going to start being on the hot seat, "not the pitt basketball we are accustomed to seeing." This is Dixons big sophomore class and if they continue playing like this they'll be lucky to be. 500 at the end of the year.

Like i said o think Penn State has the better team this year.... which is a weirdly awful feeling to say

All we heard all year in football was, "Hackenberg is only a 19 year old kid". These Pitt B-ball sophomores are only 19 too. Hopefully they will continue to improve. Not one of them is coming back as "freshman of the year" from the year before. Guess we'll continue to get a Dixon report from konjo until March. Hopefully he will be fair to Dixon when Pitt begins to play better.
