Re: Outlook after the First Scrimmages
Heard from a PC fan that surprisingly all 3 teams were evenly matched. Was really surprised with Ferndale but they are still a step down from BC or BG. Should do well in the WestPac.Thatdude123 wrote:How did the central scrimmage go

Ray Hinton is one of the better players in the area, he can win Ferndale some games.

Re: Outlook after the First Scrimmages
I was at the PC-Central-Ferndale scrimmage today. All 3 teams had a lot of early season mental errors and none
of these teams have any size. PC and Ferndale pressed a good bit and surprisingly Central did not apply any
full court pressure. Each varsity team played six 10 minute and I felt Central won all of their sessions.
PC is a very scrappy and well coached team but had trouble scoring. Ferndale has a solid point guard and
Hinton is a very athletic player and is there go to guy. Central is small - however they played solid defense
and have two very good guards that scored in bunches during a few spurts.
Overall I thought all three teams did well for their first live competition and will get better as they
continue to work. It looked like each of these teams need to find role players to contribute to
any potential success.

Central is indeed undersized again this year. Lafferty and Vollkommer will lead a guard oriented attack. They will hustle and play hard nosed defense which is typical for a Nevins coached team.

I was also at the Central-PC-Ferndale scrimmage. PC has a lot of lanky kids, and could be very dangerous if they decide to press full court. I agree that the guards from Central are real good, as long as they don't overthink it (coaches words). The guard combo from Ferndale can also be super dangerous...I think if Hinton gets going, you had better watch out. Finally, Ferndale won every quarter it played, minus 1 quarter...PC and Central were pretty even in there's

I heard Ferndale got a transfer from Jtown. Is this the guard to compliment Hinton?

The kid that transferred from Johnstown is the other guard. He is a little undersized, but he is super quick, from what I have seen

The Johnstown to Ferndale pipeline has begun it seems. All academic reasons I'm sure.

Who goes to Ferndale for athletics anyways???? The last time they won anything on the boys side the internet didn't exist and people still used party lines to make phone calls. Showing my age with this post.Crimson's Ghost wrote:The Johnstown to Ferndale pipeline has begun it seems. All academic reasons I'm sure.
