ACC Big Ten Challenge

I think the governor has bigger fish to fry.konjo78 wrote:Honestly the Governor should step in and make this happen.
This argument makes senseEl-Moldo wrote:And my beef isn't how the pairings go for the ACC/Big Ten challenge. It's how they decide who gets the home games. If Michigan goes into the Carrier Dome last night, you might see a different result. Same as OSU at Louisville. And Duke is headed to Wisconsin. So you got to take into consideration who plays who, and where they play. At least football bowl games are at neutral sites.
Any way you slice it 14 games are played better the conference. It's very entertaining for this portion of the season and it does provide good, fair bragging rights throughout the year.
Re: ACC Big Ten Challenge
So in late February, the winning conference can still brag about what happened 3 months previously?

So with the Iowa and Penn State win the Big 10, who currently is holding an 8-3 lead, wins this year's challenge!
Great showing by penn state and Iowa. North Carolina has been extremely disappointing in recent years. They have some amazing athletes but they don't feel like they have any true basketball players.

UNC is very poorly coached. Incredibly talented team.

won't disagree there. I just feel as if i never see them consistently making good basketball plays. Either way a surprising upset.Crimson's Ghost wrote:UNC is very poorly coached. Incredibly talented team.

The Penn State - Virginia Tech game had to be one of the worst free throw shooting contest's I've ever watched in a college game. Penn State was 17 of 30 and the Hokies were 4 of 14....good God. But this has sort of been a trend recently in the NCAA, every time I catch a game, more times than not the free throw shooting struggles to be 60%.
Re: ACC Big Ten Challenge
Interesting ACC/Big Ten Challenge this year. As of this past Monday, the Big Ten had 6 teams in the AP Top 25. Five of those teams went down to defeat, with only Michigan narrowly defeating Syracuse on their home court. Wisconsin, OSU, MSU, Maryland, and Illinois all lost. So yes, the Big Ten had more total wins, but which conference REALLY won?

The Big 10...

Bet your taking a lot of solace in that Rutgers victory. But when push came to shove.....
Re: ACC Big Ten Challenge
B1G hasn't lost a challenge since '08. My take away is the ACC is a stronger league at the top. Louisville, Duke, UVA, Miami, and North Carolina all would have a great shot at competing for the B1G crown. I do think the B1G is a deeper league. Honestly all 14 teams could beat anyone else in the league on any given night. Here is how I predict the B1G to finish:
1. Wisconsin (15-3)
2. Michigan State (12-6)
3. Michigan (12-6)
4. Ohio State (11-7)
5. Iowa (10-8)
6. Indiana (10-8)
7. Nebraska (9-9)
8. Purdue (9-9)
9. Maryland (8-10)
10. Illinois (7-11)
11. Minnesota (7-11)
12. Penn State (6-10)
13. Northwestern (5-11)
14. Rutgers (4-12)
1. Wisconsin (15-3)
2. Michigan State (12-6)
3. Michigan (12-6)
4. Ohio State (11-7)
5. Iowa (10-8)
6. Indiana (10-8)
7. Nebraska (9-9)
8. Purdue (9-9)
9. Maryland (8-10)
10. Illinois (7-11)
11. Minnesota (7-11)
12. Penn State (6-10)
13. Northwestern (5-11)
14. Rutgers (4-12)
