Pitt leaders pondering dropping football or going to FCS
With the latest debacle in the Pitt football program, insiders have told me that the entire program is under review for eiither discontinuance or relocation to the FCS ranks. According to my source, Pitt leadership is concerned about the fact that Pitt's main western PA recruiting base, which was once the first destination of most D1 college recruiters, has deteriorated to the point that it is no longer possible for the University to field a competitive FBS team. Facilities do not meet major FBS member standards and, as has been pointed out by former coaches Graham and Christ, it is next to impossible to recruit top out of area talent to Pitt as almost all non-troubled 3, 4, and 5 star recruits receive offers from FBS schools with state of the art on campus facilities.
Coach Graham recognized the impossible recruiting situation early and left after only one year. Coach Christ recognized this fact before he took the job which he used to hone his skills until the Wisconsin job became available.

Crimson's about to have a kid!! hehe. If this were even remotely true, I would say it would be even bigger news than the sandusky scandle. Oh and tell all of those Pitt players to head over the laurel highlands to PSU where they can become the practice squad for the Nits. LOL
Re: Pitt leaders pondering dropping football or going to FCS
Anymore football is nothing more than intramurals at most FBS schools. And it is getting worse every year. Sure you get a couple teams that dominate every year but even those teams aren't that good because their competition is pitiful. The NFL will be forced to eventually start its own AAU type league for college aged players.

Really we're going to delete something that made fun of Pitt but never delete anything that Titan or Mold say about PSU? Mr. Hammett must be sensitive

Not deleting it for content, deleting it because it doesn't have to be on the high school football board. He can repost everything he is saying on the appropriate college or pro forum.
Coach and I have deleted plenty of anti-PSU posts.

Not sure why sonofpsycho is calling the possibility of Chryst going back to coach at his alma mater a debacle. Pitt had nothing to do with that. A debacle is when a coach has 4 of his players accused of gang raping a young lady at Vanderbilt, lies to his players about his seeing film of the incident, and then skips town as fast as he can when a new opportunity presents itself. That, my friends, is a debacle.
