It's the fact that it's a Pitt fan spewing the same anti-PSU garbage every time a thread is started. My kids and I watch Pitt when they play and root for them. My youngest even says "we" when discussing Pitt. So I am not a hater. I just can't stand the "fans" who concern themselves with another program more than their own. It's petty and gives Pitt fans as a whole a bad rep.

Pinstripe Bowl Game Thread

Dilfer just had 2 Hackenberg throws on Dilfer's Dimes and referred to him as a future #1 overall pick in the draft. He's got some work to do!

Hack isn't even a first 4 round quarterback yet. Honestly I wouldn't even have him on a draft board. I think he has a lot of work ahead of him before making a first round pick worthy

Pinstripe Bowl Game Thread

Post by DragonsDoExist »

Saturday it was mentioned that scouts believe if Hack were draft eligible this year he would be in conversation with UCLAs Brett Hundley to be the 3rd QB taken. So much is about physical tools and potential. Earlier this year I read a quote from a former Ravens scout that said they are not concerned with Hacks on field production this year and that he wouldn't make it out of round 2. Not saying I agree but found it very interesting. I was at one game this year (Temple) where I was just shaking my head at some of his throws.

Yeah I read that as well. I also have been seeing a rumor going around since near the beginning of the season that Hackenberg was playing through a left leg injury that was bothering him a lot more than he let on. After a month off then playing very well in the bowl game, it only furthers the rumor. I'm sure if he was playing hurt the scouts would all know about it.

Penn State finished 2-6 in the B1G. Let the healing begin!

There are about 7 Pitt fans on this board and 1 of them talks about Pitt. He generates Pitt threads and basically gets no replies. The rest of the Pitt fans just hijack Penn State threads where legitimate discussion is going on. Pitt gets brought up because they continually want Penn State to defend things without having to do the same. I think Pitt football has become so poor that Pitt fans actually would rather root against Penn State and talk about them than actually attending a Pitt game or talking about their program. 1 look at Pantherlair and Heinz field tells you that.

The whole Pitt vs PSU comparison and various discussions, is analogous to the comparison between Fords and Chevy's in a world full of Benz, BMW, Audi, Acura, Jaguar, etc. Lots of work to be done to even get close to that level.
It ain't over until it's over.

You're right and they were lucky to win those two. They did just beat a 4-4 ACC team (that played in the much more competitive Atlantic division), shows you how daunting of schedule the ACC presents.

Hackenburgh gets a lot of credit for his arm strength and future pro potential and for lack of talent around him. Basically that's how scouts view him. I definitely think he took a step back in a lot of areas and the raw potential is obviously there. The coaching change was a big one, there's no doubt O'Brien has a better idea how to use him and coach him.

I still think first round is a bit of a stretch at this point, but in a given draft you have 9 or 10 QB's taken? I would say in the 2016 or 2017 draft, he will be one of those 20 Quarterbacks picked, how he plays next year will say a lot about where and how high up.

I would guess the line situation will be a little better for him heading into next year.
