Steelers don't value corners for whatever reason. They'll wait to the 5th round to draft one.

Yeah and that's why in the last 6 years they've drafted 9 DBs and 3 of them are still in the league! And the only good one of the 9 is in NO.

Which plays to what crimson said. The ones they draft are all "project" since it takes so long to learn Lebeaus scheme, it's even tougher for DBS , with the most varying responsibilities. That's why they've filled holes recently with free agents. Clark was a hit, Mitchell is looking like a miss, although we now know he was playing hurt all year(may buy him a shot with another camp). He will need to stop the idiotic penalties that he lead the world in. With McClendon and McCullers proving better than avg, and tuit spence and shazier proving themselves early, you may see them focus on lb/ db in early rounds and maybe agroomable QB . Ol depth never hurts either

Re: NFL Draft 2015
Well it's obvious the "projects" aren't working out and it's time to draft a legit DB. Which unfortunately, other than Waynes at this point, this draft class lacks top end DB talent.Eaglealum wrote:DragonsDoExist wrote:Yeah and that's why in the last 6 years they've drafted 9 DBs and 3 of them are still in the league! 2 words... Jalen Collins. Underclassman but think he's coming out. Doubt if he's around at 22

We all know the Steelers aren't drafting a corner in the first three rounds. Dick LeBeau is to confident in his ability to turn anyone into a serviceable corner.

NFL Draft 2015
Collins from LSU has indeed declared. I still prefer Waynes over Collins. The best of the bunch may be Washington's Marcus Peters but he was kicked off the team at Washington and did not get along with coaches. A guy who may fit the LeBeau mold is Miami Ohio's Quinten Rollins. Stock is moving up on him however and while 1st round is too early 2nd round may be too late.Eaglealum wrote:2 words... The only way LeBeau's style of CB works is if the front 7 are getting pressure. If they aren't we will see more of the same from the back end next year.
