Homer beat Saltsburg. Portage picked up a win against CT (AA points?) and Ferndale beat Windber (AA points?)

I don't think that Ferndale is as thin after Hinton as everyone thinks. A ton of teams try to box and 1 Ferndale, and they have won every time that has been done. Harris has had some big games, Kinsey and McCombie and Thomas all can go off. I think that they will surprise people and play BC tough and then come back and finish 3rd to make the State Playoffs

I saw BG take down Bellwood in a very good game earlier in the season. I like to think Bellwood has a very good team but you could tell BG had better athletes at every position. I believe they will beat Carroll in round 1 and be the front runner for the district. If they already should have beat Bishop Carroll there is little doubt the kids I watched won't come in and give the favorite all that they can handle.

D6 Single A Standings

Beating Carroll is a lot to ask for a bad offense team.

If they can keep the game played in the 40's and make it physical, they could steal one. If Carroll gets out and moving, it won't be pretty - Martinazzi will have a field day.

At the end of the day, Guilfoyle is better equipped to play with Carroll than most of the teams in the playoff field. Still, beating them would is a tall task.

Agreed Crimson. BG doesn't seem to fear BC at all and they seem to handle their press better than most teams but I don't see how they can score enough to beat BC. McCloskey may be the best defensive matchup around against Martinazzi but when you are playing as many sophomores as BG is (with usually only 1-2 seniors who have experienced BC's press on the floor) getting enough offense to actually beat Carroll will be a tall task. No matter how well you attack their trap BC is going to turn any team over some and to combat that you have to be able to score somewhat consistently. I don't see BG doing that and I've seen them several times this year.

I do believe this will be the toughest test for BC in the district and it's hard for both teams that it comes in the quarter-finals. There isn't another team in the district who will play the Huskies within 10 points this year. This is probably the last run for Carroll for at least a few years since they don't appear to have the likes of Lee, Martinazzi, Ranck, Lucas, etc,,,, waiting in the wings. I'm sure Coach Aliquo will have them very motivated for one more run.

How much if any did the loss to the Rangers the other eve take out of BG?
