Pitt was up 11 in the second half, and it was a 1 point game with under a minute left. I had to write a quick recap for Cardiachill.com, my title was "Pitt hangs on to beat Syracuse 65-61" I guess my Penn State biased really showed there.

I will add that my Dad didn't like the headline either. Must be an old guy thing.

As a "reporter", YOU should emphasize the positive in your headline. Heaven knows OUR locals always try to make PSU look good.

I wasn't really a "reporter" yesterday, since I wasn't at the actual game. I have covered the past three home games as a member of the media, so obviously that's a different perspective. Yesterday was more just recapping the game briefly.
The way SB Nation works is that you almost have two headlines.
So if you go to Cardiachill.com You will see "Pitt picks up big road win 65-61 over Syracuse" and if you click on that link, the actual title reads what I said in the first one.
As a reporter, you don't have to be a cheerleader, you have to be straight down the middle. If Pitt lost that game, they would have to be criticized for blowing an 11 point second half lead, there's just no way around that. The "hung on" yesterday. At least that's how I saw it, and coincidentally enough, the AP reporter also viewed it that way.

$13,026,653.23 was raised this year. The students have raised over $127,000,000 since Thon's inception. Let those numbers sink in for a while.PLDragons24 wrote:Just saw over 13 million dollars was raised. Another great year. Love that Penn State culture.El-Moldo wrote:How did things go at THON today?
