Re: Tyler Boyd
I would agree with you if only 5000 people show up in Philly. The state university traveling to the largest city in the state hardly compares to playing in Akron, Kent or Toledo

Those Penn State-Temple games have been fairly competitive lately if I recall, should be another exciting one at the Linc.
Re: Tyler Boyd
Plus the PSU-Temple game is played in a NFL stadium.

Unfortunately, the Pitt vs. Akron and Pitt vs. Youngstown State games have not been. Both double digit losses.Crimson's Ghost wrote:Those Penn State-Temple games have been fairly competitive lately if I recall, should be another exciting one at the Linc.

Unfortunately, Pitt doesn't bill themselves as an elite program the way Penn State does. It seems they are lagging behind the Alabama's and Ohio State's of the world.
It seems the dominate the state initiative is because Penn State is playing so many games in the state of Pennsylvania, gotta hit the Homefront hard I guess. Do they have more than 3 actual road games planned next season?

Sounds like I hit a nerve! I didn't know Penn State was supposed to compete versus Ohio State and Alabama while on sanctions. Penn State will have every chance to be a program like Michigan State has been. They are not an Alabama or Ohio State. They do have the resources in place to be a top 10-15 program. Tough to do on sanctions and with a 85 year old coach well past his prime.
I'd be sour, too, if I my team was ranked 80th in recruiting and beating out MAC teams for recruits! Plenty of Pitt fans think the brief 6 year span of being relevant in the past 65 years is the norm. Don't worry it was all Steve Pederson's fault haha.

It's weird, you would think the fans of the mighty accomplished football powerhouse wouldn't care at all about the small city school to the West. But my lord, it's the complete opposite.
I find it down right bizarre.
Like those weird creeps that tweet underage boys and tell them Pitt sucks and they'll never amount to anything with Twitter handles like "Pitt Critic" "PittmyPants" "PittRealist" it's down right concerning that we live among people like that.

I can't wait until Penn State and West Temple start playing again. It's been way too long. Should be fun.

It's very odd, but I'd be willing to bet there are just as many Pitt weirdos on twitter, but I will say those are some funny names. I think many locals care, because it's fun to make fun of Pitt fans, because we live among them. I'd say the majority of Penn State fans could not care less about Pitt. If you want to talk about obsession, just log onto Pantherlair. That board talks more about Penn State than Pitt. I haven't visited lately, but during the season it is highly entertaining.Crimson's Ghost wrote:It's weird, you would think the fans of the mighty accomplished football powerhouse wouldn't care at all about the small city school to the West.
