The PLAN was and always will be for the 2 best teams to advance to the regional tournament. Hats off to St. Michael for advancing to the regional tournament and a spot in tomorrow nights championship game. The league got it right in their bracketing and St Michael got it right on the field which is where games are meant to be won.

Sounds like you just like stirring sh-t there Manfred.. If you are a fan of the saints and baseball in general, why can't you just enjoy the fact that the saints earned a regional birth over a quality team and program in number 3/seed Bedford instead of trying to down others. The seeds seemed to work out well as the number 2 and 3 seeds met in the semis in what was a great matchup.

Heard the game was rain-delayed to start, then in the bottom of the 3rd with C'burg leading 2-0 another deluge hit. Divine intervention? No rain in Sidman.

Best two teams, or teams with the greater advantage??? No matter what kind of BS anyone in a larger zone brings up, the teams still have to play on the field so why would a league devise a plan for the best two teams to advance. In a tournament, the reward for the regular season is the initial seeding. If the last place team keeps winning, then they are by definition the better team and should make it to regionals.pas2326100 wrote:The PLAN was and always will be for the 2 best teams to advance to the regional tournament. I just can't believe a collective group of guys at such a disadvantage would agree to such nonsense in the first place. For crying out loud two of the teams had to fold up tents because of lack of players while these other guys have unlimited territory. Don't worry, reality sets in when the perennial champs always lose to State College or Greensburg at regionals. Just like in life, in legion ball no matter what anyone tries to pull there is always a bigger fish.

If the schedule was balanced and everyone played each other the same amount of times then I would agree with you. However since the league is setup to have Claysburg, Bedford, and Somerset play each other for half of their games then this makes sense. Bedford would have most likely had a better record than say the 3 seed Lilly had Lilly played the same schedule as they had. So it makes sense that they would get some kind of benefit in the playoffs. I'm not sure exactly what the re seeding rule was but I can see why they did it.

While I agree with you (I can't believe I just typed those words lol), to be fair, Stoystown has a rather large area to draw from as well. I think the schools are North Star, Shade, Shanksville, Cone. Township, Berlin, Meyersdale, Salisbury, Turkey foot, and Rockwood.say_oww wrote:Best two teams, or teams with the greater advantage??? Stoystown draws from the first 4 you mentioned. If Meyersdale had HAD a team, as they have in years past, they would take in the last 4 you mentioned.
