If FH loses to Richland, (and assuming they'll also then lose to Bedford) you could then take FH out of the Playoff discussion. Even if FH, CC, and Rich, are all 4-6, and even if FH had more Points,....FH would be prohibited from post-season participation, per school policy, due to a sub-.500 record. The FH/Rich game on Fri has more importance to Rich than a lot of people realize.

The Bedford FH game will mean nothing to Bedford. How many starters are you going to risk for a meaningless game with the playoffs about to start. Could turn into a Bedford JV game

Bedford will come out w/ guns blazing, in "tune-up" mode, to get ready for the playoffs, at least for the 1st half, then they may call off the dogs.. Besides, for the Seniors, they may only have a few more games left in their career. Its not like this is the NFL. Plus, Bedford/FH is a big rivalry.

I believe that CC also has the .500 rule for playoffs... Plus, they would have to beat McCort and Westy and that is a tall order...

There is NO way Richland will defeat Forest Hills this Friday night. FH is in and will be rewarded with a beat-down by Central in round I of the PIAA D6 Playoffs.

I know schools have the .500 policy for open playoffs such as basketball and baseball, but would that still be in effect for the football playoffs where only the top 8 get in and technically you have to "earn" a spot?  I could be wrong but I don't ever recall a team qualifying for the playoffs and refusing their spot. Does anyone know?

Hardly a meaningless game for Bedford. I don't think any game is meaningless in the short window a player has to play HS football. But anyway to Bedford.. They if they take care of business against CH will have an undefeated season on the line vs. FH. Also for seniors it will be their last home game. In addition Bedford will have a bye week in week 11 before they play most likely CR for a D-5 title.

I don't expect them to play FH as if it's a meaningless game. I expect them to play it like they have an undefeated season on the line. FH and Bedford is as someone said earlier, a big rivalry.

Bedford only has one thing to play for in these final two games, and that's to ensure that they at least clinch a share of the conference championship. Let's face the facts, Bedford has known they will play Chestnut Ridge for the District 5 championship since the season started, so they haven't had too many meaningful games for their playoff quest, since they pretty much had an automatic bid. Will they come out firing on all cylinders for four quarters? No. But they have a reason to play the starters for at least a half, and the way they have been playing - that's about all they need.

A few years ago when District 6 was taking more teams. I believe Marion Center School board said NO to playoffs when they ended the season below .500. And for some reason I am thinking Blairsville did also.
