D6 A Boys Power Rankings - 12/12

Post by HSFootball88 »

Here's my top 10 for this week, I hope to keep this going throughout the year.
1. Saltsburg (4-0) - Started off the year strong like most predicted. However, I don't know much about Leechburg or Apollo Ridge.
2. Homer Center (4-0) - Already notched wins over Juniata Valley and Cambria Heights and look to keep it going this week with games against Purchase Line and United.
3. Bishop Guilfoyle (0-0) - Haven't started basketball as they are still playing football; good luck in the state championship! But, look to see them start slow and finish strong this year once they get started.
4. Bishop Carroll (2-1) - Beat Westmont in a close one last night, and beat Ferndale by 4 to start the season. They lost to Somerset by 9 but look for David Swatsworth to continue to lead this team.
5. Ferndale (3-1) - Lost to BC to start the year, then have been pounding teams since. I thought there was a typo when I read the score with Windber last night, 90-49! Ray Hinton will definitely be tough to slow down this year.
6. Portage (3-0) - Haven't hit tough competition yet but have had balance scoring in their three games so far. They have 2 solid slashers in Ryan Myher and Braedon St. Clair, and Jake Swank is a consistent ball handler and scorer for them.
7. Moshannon Valley (1-0) - Played their first game last night and beat Claysburg by 12. They return all 5 starters from last year's team that lost to Portage in OT in the first round of playoffs. Should know more after they play Bellwood, Curwensville, and JV this week.
8. Conemaugh Valley (2-0) - Return 4 starters from last year I believe, although I noticed 6th man Andre Nash transferred to McCort. Only have 2 wins over Blacklick Valley, but play Ferndale this week.
9. Penns Manor (2-1) - Lost to CC by 14 to start the year, then followed that up with 2 wins over Conemaugh Township and Northern Cambria. This week they play United and Saltsburg, so we should learn more after the Saltsburg game.
10. St. Joseph's (2-0) - Don't know much about them, other than they have 2 wins over Southern Huntingdon and Williamsburg. They play Penn Cambria this week which will give a little more insight on them.

Anyone have any other ideas let me know! I chose to only do D6 A because that is the class I know the most about, although it's hard to rank the top 10 this early in the season.
