Each week that passes, I'm starting to realize McCort might be alright this year.  But it's not what it used to be, maybe I'm holding them to unrealistic expectations then. 

We have the kid's mom coming on here asking for some privacy, I'll respect her wishes and bow out of the conversation.

Wow, been reading, and this one has really gotten down in the weeds.

I'll try to offer some objective thoughts:

I'm a Rule follower. From what I've read on here, taken at face value, it appears the Rules were followed. If one doesn't like the rules, you can do your part to try to affect a Change of the rules. Otherwise, turn the page.
And, this is from a guy that has this opinion regarding Private/Catholic schools: I couldn't care less about the Regular Season, if they're within the established rules. BUT, for Playoffs, they should compete among themselves for a State Championship.

Now, to the human aspect. If I have an employee that's worked for me for 15 years, and is an average worker, nothing especially noteworthy except their loyalty, and 1 that has worked for me for 3 months that is Exceptional  with everything given to them,.....and a Promotion to Supervisor comes up.....I'm promoting the person that'll knock it outta the park as a Supervisor . That's life in the real world.

So, if a Transfer is better than a kid that spent all summer lifting weights and running, etc., and I'm the Coach that is getting paid to win games,.....who do You think I'm gonna play?

Agreed. I didn't say loyalty was insignificant. 

I am saying that in high school sports, as in business, sometimes the "informed decision", taking all things into account, means that the best candidate/player isn't the guy that "punched the timeclock" the most times. Sometimes it is. But, it's not a given. Otherwise, you wouldn't see freshman/sophomores starting, because they have less time on the team, than juniors/seniors. I see Transfers in the same light. If you're the best player for the position, you play.

Yes, there is nepotism, and favoritism, that we all get to deal with at times. I'm not addressing that in my scenario. Because, when those 800 lb. gorillas are in the room, it doesn't matter how good you are...... Yet again, another fact of life, albeit an ugly one.

At least in wrestling, kids wrestle-off every Monday to see who gets to wrestle at a certain weight class for the week. In football, when a transfer shows up after the season has started, how does he prove he's the better player? Sometimes you play because of who you know. Sometimes thy reputation doth precede thee. Too bad for the previous starter.

Some of you get way too butthurt over stuff like this. let's say your company hires a new guy today, you're his supervisor. The guy comes with a great reputation from his previous employer. You can clearly see he is better at the same job as you, so he gets a promotion. That's the real world. In your world where it's not fair we cry and hold hands. In a man's world you pick yourself up by the bootstraps, dust yourself off. You get in the weight room and work your **** off to get your spot back. if it's in the professional world maybe its more schooling or whatever can make you better. People like you with this attitude that things aren't fair is what is making this world the way it is.
