Players to watch with each high school team coming up. Who can we look forward to watching this year!

Small game but great shooters. Trinkley and Dumm will scrap inside the paint for rebounds. Good friends with PMs coach that says they have been putting in hard work this off-season. Wouldn't be surprised if they finish second or third in the conference giving saltsburg a run for their money. 

Yeah, I suppose after Saltsburg the conference is a little down, and several teams could easily finish second or third, PM included... I guess you also have to consider how the new sections will break down.  They definitely have the easier section to play in.  

And what happens when they run into your team Chris Kent?! Ole Liggy.  Surely Penns Manor wouldn't be able to handle another beatdown by WVU Football recruit Collin Smith.  IF he plays?  Do you know, will he?  I know hes a better football player but he's a great athlete that will have his way doing a lot of different things with heritage conference teams.

I'm not saying Penns Manor can't do it!  Those four mentioned are great athletes and I enjoyed watching them play in the playoffs last year.  They're a fun athletic group to watch that I hope puts it together if they really have been working that hard this offseason.  I really just want to know if Liggy's big D1 athlete will be on the court this year.  Looking forward to a fun year of hoops for sure!

Speaking of Saltsburg, three of their players Nick Porter, Frank Plowman and Jake Roman took first place in the 3 on 3 tournament at Tyrone around two months ago. They went to IUP's team camp two months ago and played in games against other teams in the camp and went 6-1.

I wouldn't put to much stock in 3 on 3 tournaments and summer league games.  Most team camps and summer leagues teams rarely have full rosters.  Out of season games are really only good for gaining experience not so much for judging how good your team is.  I do believe Saltsburg will run the table in their league and most likely win D6 A now that BG and other schools have moved out of that division.

Yeah, but District 6A still has Bishop Carroll. And Saltsburg has had trouble getting past Bishop Carroll recently.

As much as I hate to say it, if Saltsburg doesn't win the district with what they have coming back it under achieved. Nothing like putting pressure on them before the first practice. I think they have what it takes to win D6 but coaching and playing as a team is going to be the difference.

Carroll really relied on 2 players last season, and both graduated. I think they'll find a way to get themselves to compete because Aliqo is good coach, but if Saltsburg has a good team, they should get by BC.

Just a month out! Can't wait to get this thread up and rolling. Have any football injuries put any big time players at risk for not playing to start this season? Are there leagues out there that are going on?

I can't speak for the boys but there's currently a girls league at summit. Nice league

The summit league is an "okay" league.  I had a chance to see some teams play while waiting for my daughters games.  I wouldn't make any predictions based on that league, because the better teams rarely had their best players.  For example, Tyrone was missing Engle several times and that is a difference maker for Tyrone.  I would say the same for Altoona, because if they had their best players present, they would have been the best team in the league.  Bishop Carroll looks decent even without Williams, but they were missing Martinazzi some weekends too.  Penn Cambria was missing a ton of players each week, so hard to determine anything with them.  Blairsville looks like they will still be a force in the heritage.  Penns Manor looks young, but looks like they will also be very good and as someone mentioned earlier...they won the building II league this summer.  I watched some parents go after their coach after a game (Do they know it is preseason  )  Felt bad for the guy!  Forest Hills was missing Cecere for a bunch of games, but their other players are playing hard.  I like what I see with FH.  Central looked good too...a couple good athletes to help his two guards.  Interestingly enough, BG, BM, and BA were not playing in the league, but know that they are very good teams.

     BC has a young team this year. No seniors and only 3 juniors I think. Aliquo will have them competitive by playoff time, but I have to agree with you. They should get by them. They'll be a force to be reconed with next year for sure.

Braedon St.Clair and Jake Swank from Portage are two to keep your eye on! Portage looks to have a pretty promising team this year! Also Nathan Teno is another good player to watch for the mustangs.
