Re: Scrimmage
The scrimmage did end up being BM/PC/Ferndale. Ferndale played 5 quarters, 3 vs McCort and 2 vs PC. They won 4 of the 5 quarters. The only one they lost was by 1 point against McCort. McCort will be a tough matchup for a lot of the LHAC, due to their height and 3 really good guards. PC is going to be a physical team, which is usually their M.O.
The McCort/Westmont games are going to be great this year. They are going to matchup well with each other. Should be a good battle for that side of the Laurel Highlands

Re: Scrimmage
Section II of the LHAC will be very tough.
McCort is tough with Britt, Nash, and Kasper at guards. I don't think they are very deep.
Richland has a nice little team with Zimmerman, Instone, Hardison and the Burke kid is supposed to be good.
Johnstown has Gause and Price returning.
Westmont has four of their top five scorers back with Molchany leading the way.
Somerset loses Heiple and Barnes and Scott Close isn't coaching anymore. Still have a few athletes like Coyle though.
Bedford loses a lot, Kline should be their go-to guy,
Hard to say who wins this section, but Johnstown, Richland, Westmont and McCort are all very capable. Those games will all be battles against one another.

Re: Scrimmage
Hollidaysburg had its way with Johnstown on saturday... both teams appeared to be missing important players so it should be interesting when they meet during the season

How did this one play out? I would have loved to catch it!pahoops wrote:Bellwood girls to scrimmage Altoona this Saturday at the Fieldhouse
Re: Scrimmage
Would have to say Altoona walked away the winner. At one point, Altoona had four 6ft plus kids on the floor. Altoona also has some really nice depth. I'm not sure how they will do at the 6A level, but they have a very nice team. Could possibly see same two teams playing in the championship game at the Jaffa tourney on Dec 14th. Dec 13th at the Jaffa has Bellwood v Bishop Mccort at 6pm and Altoona v Juniata Valley at 7:30. Should be a great tourney!Icoach wrote:How did this one play out? Re: Scrimmage
Tyrone dominated the Rangers. several players in the 6-1 to 6-3 range, all pretty decent shooters. They hardly missed any 3's, and got inside when they needed to. Rangers need some work, better shooting, finish off close-in shots. Not going to dominate the boards either.
It ain't over until it's over.
