James Conner declares for NFL draft

James Conner has declared for the NFL draft.  He is a red shirt junior this year and has one year of eligibility left - however his last game as a Pitt Panther will be in the Pinstripe Bowl.  As a sports fan, I root for my favorite teams.  However, every once in a while, I admire a player so much that I root for him in particular.  Sometimes that player is on one of my teams, but not always.  For me, over the years I have rooted for certain players because of their stories, their passion and respect for the game, or because you realize they really get the most out of their abilities.  I will always be a huge James Conner fan and wish him the best.  His freshman year, you could tell that he was a special player and special person, doing whatever it took to help the team including playing several snaps on defense.  He had an incredible sophomore year where he was ACC player of the year.  Then the knee injury and cancer.  Not only did he come back, but he took advantage of the spotlight to try to help others with cancer.  He gave them hope and spirit.  What a story.  Good luck to him in the NFL.  I am curious to see how high he will go in the draft, but I am sure he will get "Off the Chart" marks for character and intangibles as they rate him.

James Conner is a great person, he's easy to root for whether you are a fan of Pitt or not.  He does everything the right way.
