You would simply have more good games and less blowout in the state playoffs. If these teams/fans are going to travel up to two hours, I'd rather see better games than 80-40 blowouts.
If you made private school playoffs just AA-AAA-AAAA playing each other, games would be better and competition tougher. You would have a real quality product winning.

I would like to see them go back to the old Catholic A and B but in this case Private A and B, then all problems stop.   Public and Private wars would be over.  The argument that it would end up like New Jersey and all the top athletes go to private, I say so what.   The internet and camps in all sports ended the era of parents thinking they need to send their kid to private athletic feeders to get noticed.

Do the publicly funded charter schools stay in the PIAA?

Halftime.

Sounds like one heck of a game, I'm listening on the radio, and it sounds pretty wild.

After 3.

Thomas has 20 points for McCort, which is expected. You usually don't expect the supporting cast to score 35 points in 3 quarters.

Served up a little humble pie.  Be careful what you ask for. Congrats to both teams.  Maybe Altoona Mirror can admit McCort is the better team after third time.

No matter what the PIAA does, or what classification they use for privates/publics, this thread is evidence that NOTHING will ever change. People will still be unsatisfied. So let's say Private schools get put in the their own class. Now schools like JV win the state playoffs every year and people like dad's w/ 2 sons are still complaining and saying "oh well they recruit". Some like to live in a world where they think people don't move for academic or athletic intent even within public schools. Alliquipa football is a great example, you honestly think all of their great teams over the years were 100% home grown??? No way. At the end of the day, it's high school sports. Kids go out, play the game, learn life skills, graduate and go focus on their careers. No point in losing sleep at night worrying about which private and public school is recruiting who.
Do the publicly funded charter schools stay in the PIAA?
I know this is the girls thread, but on the boys side, I'm going to predict right now that we see 3 charter school champions this year. As of now I see one only 1 for sure private school champion. Considering charters are publically funded, should I be correct, we'll have 5 "public" champions and only 1 private. I'm thinking at the very least we'll see 4 "public" and only 2 private. People may think just ridding themselves of private schools solves their "problem", but if you do that then all you're going to see is charter school champions across the board. If that happens, we'll really see attendance problems.
