It may not seem fair to some, but the Oldtimers' Assn. control the show. For this tournament to continue to be held in Johnstown, it will be done their way, and that is to allow 2 teams from the area to compete. This all started because a few years ago, at the last minute, one of the franchises bowed out and an emergency fill in was needed. I don't have a problem with it.
It ain't over until it's over.

It's pretty simple and obvious. MONEY.. When you have two local teams playing at the Point that's a guarantee of 4 games and keeps the interest up. Back in the day with one local team they bow out after 2 games the attendance the rest of the week wouldn't even come close to the opening two nights Johnstown played . The place was packed. Now they're luck to fill the stadium 3/4. I'm sure if Livonia or any other team was the host city they'd have two local entries as well.Manfred wrote:It may not seem fair to some, but the Oldtimers' Assn. control the show. The "Flood City" entry started because Washington canceled back in 2011. They kept them for whatever reason. If the one Johnstown team fails to advance they take over and it helps attendance.
I remember the first year it happened the two Johnstown teams met and Drew Shaullis threw a no hitter for Deleeld over Martellas.

With two franchises already backing out the whole JCL may get to participate this year.
