BG Vulnerable?

Post by Steve92 »

I hope this post makes me look foolish tomorrow night, but BG looks vulnerable.  They seemed to lack intensity against Bedford, but they executed well and pulled away.  Against Westmont Hilltop they were completely flat.  They played uninspired football.  It was evident before the game and at halftime.  It was evident in the 4th quarter when Westy had the chance to go ahead and the BG players just seemed resigned to fate.  Fortunately, the clock forced WH to throw, which was obviously out of their comfort zone.   The fire of the past few years just doesn't seem to be there.  I noticed on the Fearless Forecast that everyone (including me--can't root against them) is picking BG over McCort.  Too soon to call an end to the streak?

Very possible. I do think and have thought that this year they will lose a game or even 2. It would shock me if they didn't win states and really shock me if they didn't win districts.

I think it's very possible they win by 2-3 touchdowns tomorrow as well.

You can bet BG coach's gave the the team a good "gut check" at this week's practices..but I'm smelling upset. Thinking Bishop McCort backs will give BG defense all they can handle. Game will come down to BM defense holding a few times...

Yeah, BG played good not great. McCort played OK. I think it came down to McCort's inability to stop the pass and their inability to pass themselves. McCort moved the ball and stalled out in the red zone 4-5 times it seemed. BG would get in third and longs and convert some tough plays.

It was an OK game, but it took forever. TV timeouts or something. They didn't kickoff until 7:15 I think.

Just going to go out on a limb here, but they only had 10 yds passing. And you consider that ok. Pretty confident that they won't beat LV, a team in their own classification throwing for ten yes. And Tutino and Daughtery , as good as BG receivers , maybe better.
If they get behind , fullback dives are not going to be the answer.

Throwing for 10 years??? Gosh I was playing in the heritage 10 years ago and ligonier or laurel were not throwing teams ever. Only team that was would be blairsville

I don't expect them to beat Ligonier and I never have. And Tutino is the best WR in D6 that I've seen. He was awesome last year.
