Ben Dinucci should start moving forward. What's the point of starting someone who is not much better or not even better that is a senior when you can start a sophomore to develop him.

Where were the Dan Marino comparisons? I'm a pretty big Pitt fan, I didn't see those articles.

I watched him in the spring game and was underwhelmed.  I kinda have had the same stance on him all along.

One thing the box score won't really show is this coaching staff's commitment to a deep defensive rotation. In a one score game, I don't think you would see Brandon Smith getting 30% of the MLB reps over Cabinda. Penn State had a 5 DT rotation and a 6th that got a series. They had 7 DEs get multiple series. They gave their best player Marcus Allen 2 series off (Pitt scored on both of them). They played true freshmen Wade, Castro-Fields, and Gross-Matos in multiple series each.

25 players got at least a dozen snaps on defense. Getting up 14-0 early was a huge advantage to build some depth for later in the season. We all seen what happened last year in the Big House when a position group experienced multiple injuries. Saturday gave the 2 deeps (maybe more) experience in not just any game but a competive game with a talented opponent.

With the offense only running 52 plays, they didn't have that same luxury.
