Steelers Week 8 reaction thread

Post by konjo78 »

The defense certainly bent but did not break. Ben still looks shaky and showing his age but the star of the game is JuJu in my mind.

Juju has handled all of this attention like a veteran and might just be one of my favorite steelers on the team. He very well could be that offenses new big threat!

Roethlisberger hasn't looked particularly good at all this season.  He's still solid enough and the weapons mask some of his problems.

Even so, Eli Rogers dropped a sure touchdown early in the game. I think JuJu had an easy drop in the 4th quarter that would have been a first down. His stat line would have looked a little better with those in hand.

They have a bye and they are relatively healthy.  I think they should have a good second half.

Ben looks like he is afraid to get hit back there this year.  He is throwing off of his back foot a lot.   The defense is really good for the first time in several years.  I am a big fan of JuJu.  He is 20 and seems very bulky for a WR.  I think he is going to be a matchup nightmare in the next couple of years for defenses.

With the sad news of Watson being injured and Jujus increase value in the steelers offense could we see a year where steelers have both the offensive and defensive rookies of the year in Watt and Smith-Schuster?

I see the Steelers as two different teams..hence the KC game then there was the Jacksonville game. They are 6-2, just a got it done not so convincing 6 and 2 team. The so called unexpected bright spots are the rookies Juju and JJ.. Juju looks like a veteran beast in his prime and JJ will only get better in the second half. However, Ben will have to play much better, or at least be more consistent, this team will only get as far as he'll take them.

It's pretty unbelievable to me how much older Ben looks this year compared to last year. I agree I think he can still get the job done this year but the steelers better address QB in the draft this year. I know they got Dobbs last year. Just not sold on him yet.

Lets not forget how peyton manning was his last 2 years. He didnt look horrible the season right before retirement but the very next year he was near unwatchable.

Dobbs is ok but I too am not all aboard that train yet. I said it a bunch the last few years when he was at ole Miss.... call Elway and get Chad Kelly. I really think if he stays out of trouble he’ll be best QB out of last years class. Just my opinion but he’s the most proven out of all of them out of college and it wouldn’t cost more than a 6 or 7 th round pick
