What I will say is the biggest flaw of this current system is that there is an emphasis on not who you lose to but rather when you lose to them. It's clear that you could lose to a dud in the first 2-3 weeks of the season then run the table and get in. But if the #4 loses to #2 late in the season you need help to get in. Ohio St. has no business being in with their bad loss to Iowa but because it happened mid season, they will be in contention with a win over Wisconsin despite having 2 losses. If they were 11-1 however heading into this game and lose to Wisconsin they would for sure not be in. Both 11-2 campaigns, but 2 drastically different outcomes

Alabama is in the biggest position to suffer from "when" you lose. Had they lost to that same Auburn team in September, they'd be ranked higher today.
That part of college football was in place well before the CFP era too, it's always been that way and I've never liked it.

Right if auburn beat clemson earlier in the season but lost to alabama theyd be ranked lower.
The losses mean a lot more to me than the CFB committee

Ok so looks like Clemson, Oklahoma and in my opinion Georgia are in. What happens with an Ohio St. win? Does OSU get in or does Bama?

If you start talking about Ohio St., don't you have to add USC to the conversation?

I don't think so. OSU was already ranked ahead of them and will have beaten an undefeated #4 while USC beat 3 now 4 loss Stanford.Earl34 wrote:If you start talking about Ohio St., don't you have to add USC to the conversation?

Neither team should be in. Give it to UCF! Dont need to see ohio state blown out like last year

If Ohio St. gave up 55 points to Memphis would you still call that a good win?

It was an exciting game, but UCF's performance today confirmed what most of us have been saying. They aren't a top 4 team.

I mean they gave up 55 go iowa, a worse team than memphis, already this season... That game didnt need OT to get to 55
