They also have a player at WVU. They get big “transfers” every year and will probably compete very well at the 6a level.

Yeah they have JR Maceo Austin who has offers from Pitt and UVA and added 6'10" JR transfer Oscar Tshiebwe who's got offers from several D1 programs like WVU, Clemson, OK State, Gtown, Pitt and PSU.

Well, hopefully they change their schedule as well. Johnsonburg and Ridgeway are great small school programs, but it is going to be a little uneven if they play.

The only way they could change their schedule would be to play a national schedule. There aren’t many 6a teams around them and only a handful of 5a. That would be the best bet be like Wesstown drop the PIAA and play a national schedule.

2 division one players? Is that competitive with 5a and 6a schools? What kind of bench difference would there be?

There are probably 8 Division One players in all of Western PA total, and they have two of them. They'll be more than OK. They've been the best team in Western PA in any class the past 2 seasons. Allderdice had a really fantastic team 2 years ago, and Kennedy beat them. Pretty telling.

Considering Ramsey did not get a snap in the 1st state championship and transferred over after before any of this streak even began. I can GUARANTEE they have one state championship at the very least. McGeary transferred over after the first title and did help continue the streak but was not the reason for victory. The 2015 and 2016 teams were loaded with homegrown talent but that’s a different story. But everyone has to agree about title number 1 because you can not name a player who stepped on the field in Hershey who transferred. Just impossibleCCDevil2012 wrote:But what is always said? "Skill guys can't do it without the guys blocking in front of them". Every team A - 6A in the state playoffs has at least one stud skill player. Most 1A teams though don't average 6'3" 290lbs up front with 2 going 300+. I don't know that BG wins any of their titles without McGeary and Ramsey, both kids who transferred in Sophomore or Junior year. I will give you the Leamer brothers were from BGAwdhaemel wrote:Very aware that certain private schools, take advantage of their ability to attract kids, such as St. Joe' s or imotep, just to name a couple, but not understanding why BG, is lumped in with teams like that, yes they don't have boarders and reside in a 6A district, but someone here please name one skill position guy that transferred into BG, during his junior year, that was one of the main reasons they won the previous 3 championships, that's right there hasn't been one.
