Yeah that’s it. I’m sure that’s exactly why Coach Black scheduled that extra game.

Does any other high school sport allow you to keep scheduling games after your season ends?

Can they schedule a 12th game with a team that gets beat in the first round of the playoffs? Because, you know, they’re young and the seniors just don’t want their 4-7 season to end.

Yea, I think it's a good move for NBC.  Young team, only 5 seniors and there's a team willing to make a trip there to play an extra game.  Why not?  If the biggest opposition is a guy on Bleachercoaches, then I think it's a pretty good trade off.

I think I've seen some basketball tournaments/games for JV teams after the season in the past.

Not as embarrassing as having grammar that reveals you're probably a high schooler.
I think CC would still be favored, especially with one of BC's better players out for the season. I've heard that a reason for not playing was lack of a quality field to play on due to rain. It's one thing to rent a field for an actual game, it's another to rent a field for an exhibition.

Do college football teams that don’t get invited to a bowl seek an extra game with a team that will agree to travel to play them?

How about young NFL teams that miss the playoffs? Can they schedule additional games?

No, because it’s against the rules at their respective levels, it’s not against the rules at the high school level hence why you see it happen every once in a while. A few years ago when Cambria Heights and Northern Cambria were both down they would play the Coal Bowl in week 11 so this is nothing really new to the area.

But that’s why some college teams are happy to take a bowl game at 5-7 or 6-6 because that’s just an extra three weeks of practice. Not many coaches will turn that down.
It’s the same concept at the high school level I would think, just on a smaller scale.

The first response is probably close to the reality of it than yours. I was hearing BC's field of hosting or st. Francis on a Wednesday or Thursday.

I think the seniors would love an extra game. Especially in a case where you could play a rival that you otherwise wouldn’t get to play .
