D6/d5 should just combine and follow the WPIAL formula. Make their own divisions for school based on region and class. Give them options for out of division games.

no. Actually if I remember the rumor was smith to IUP in early 2018, which I said was a rumor only..it was ...in july that year he decided to transfer to Lackawanna. He transferred there because he wanted to play QB.youngbuck wrote:Arent you the same person that said Colin Smith was not leaving WVU.billmurray wrote:Apollo ridge is going no place. that was discussed several years back. They got it right when they said it wouldn't work. That is why WPIAL will likely abandon their centuries old practice for one more similar to what D6 haskonjo78 wrote:D6/d5 should just combine and follow the WPIAL formula. I know the state ive been around with best organization of HS football is idaho. State makes up the divisions/districts but they are small enough so you still get to schedule consistent game with local rivals or challenge yourself vs a better opponent in the season.
The rest have conferences that are all struggling to keep their schools around for more than 5 years.

LV wanting to leave D6 is the best thing for them as they will get more of a challenge in every sport. It will help prepare them for playoffs in football but all that travel for weeknight games is going to be tough. LV to Shady Side Academy is about 1:15. Steel Valley 1:15. Those make for some late nights for any sport played on a school night.

I guess they would be somewhat used to it. A lot of schools in the Heritage aren't fielding teams in other sports so Ligonier has been playing some WPIAL teams in other sports anyway.LoneRanger wrote:LV wanting to leave D6 is the best thing for them as they will get more of a challenge in every sport.
