It would be nice to see Barry break the record.

I dont beleive there will ever be an asterisk primarily because even if he is using steroids they technically are not illegal.

Another point is he still has to hit the ball. Especially difficult when he doesnt get to see that many good pitches to go yard with.

And, we do know that Mark McGwire was using the dope. Does America hold that against him?

Do we hold it against Manny that he used (s) a little cork in the bat?

Fact, unless injuries play a factor, which they could based on age. However, even though im not a Bonds fan i dont think there should be an * beside the record, no testing in baseball there for, people never know just heresay.

I think he has a legitimate shot at passing both the Babe and Hank Aaron.

The next question is, looking down the road who are some of the younger players that have a chance at making a run at the record?

i think griffey could have had a reasonable shot at it if he never got injured.
