Re: Bison Hoops?
 the ridge vs. bedford game was a really good game.
however .... i was shocked at the very rude fans. games are all about fan participation & the rival between two local schools. the group of kids were the rudest bunch of unsupervised brats {to say the least} . its one thing for them to boo a play or a call by an official , but to boo the other teams cheerleaders is just disrespectful. the security didnt have a problem telling everyone about drinks.when they should have been controlling those kids across from us. there also had to be someone from the school there{principle or someone} to have controlled these kids also.they really made a good impression on everyone.

posterboy.....I too saw Westmont play CV earlier in the year. Westmont pressed CV man-to-man that game in the first half. You are right on one account though, CV did break it pretty easily. That would probably be the reason Westmont abandoned the press after halftime.

Re: Bison Hoops?
ridge runner if you could honestly say that the ridge fans never yelled at any official or a bad call, then what you're saying could almost make sense. Opposing fans arent going to encourage the other teams players or let alone their cheerleaders, wouldn't make sense. Also if you want to talk about fans yelling at players, the same argument can be made about players yelling at the fans. If it seemed like the fans were taunting or "getting into the heads" of the players good, thats what they are trying to accomplish, not to pick them up when they make a bad shot. And there is not need to make a stab at an individual person because of how they look, pretty sure that someone could pick something out that is abnormal about you.

Re: Bison Hoops?
well in all honesty there is no need for the people sitting right there on he first row making fun of the player right in fromt of them or yelling at them when they missed a shot... and no not good, that is what they are trying to accomplish, that is down right ignorant and you know it... no the players shouldn't yell at the fans... but the fans have no right to be yelling at the players and cutting them down now do they?
Re: Bison Hoops?
If you are going to be offended by fans yelling at players then you better stay away from games. This happens everywhere, and is a part of sports. If the players are really into the game they won't even hear the fans yelling. I really don't think you guys have much room to talk because I remember being at Ridge last year and hearing nothing but bad things coming from the Ridge student section. So I suggest you get over it if you plan on watching anymore high school games.

First off, it's apparent to me that you've never been to or watched a college basketball game, or even some select high school basketball games, in your time. If you thought the Stampede was bad, wow, you've got another thing coming.
Secondly, the Stampede was not ignorant towards anything. Quite possibly rude at times but definately not ignorant. Some of the fans may have gone overboard by taunting a particular player, and the school AD gave them the proper warning- I can attest that it did not happen again. On top of that, though, the particular player definately went overboard by calling out the Stampede with something to the tone of, "I'll take any five of you outside after the game." Is that appropriate? Is that the way a good sport, or even a good player is supposed to handle that situation? No, it's definately not; he should've let it go much like those in the stands should have. Remember the Pacers-Pistons fight? The situation that I explained is exactly how those things get started. The good player plays through it and let's his actions on the court do the talking rather than his words. I know that's easy for a fan to say, but it really is the right thing to do.
As to the cheerleaders, we weren't booing. We were actually giving a chant of "boom, boom, boom, boom" which we give when any opposing group of cheerleaders leaves the court. Not that that makes it right, just clarifying.
Thanks for the brat comment as well as the comment about the big guy; I guess it's okay to belittle people from the comfort of your own home.

Well it's only appropriate that at least once during the season that the Stampede gets scolded by some blubbering idiot AYSO fan. Turn on a Duke game sometime, tell me that those fans are the rudest and most obnixious people in the world, but only if you are playing Duke on that day. It's a part of sports, you take a bad shot and miss, you get what you deserve. A hint for all the cry baby sissies out there. IF YOU IGNORE THEM OR BEAT THE TEAM THE ARE ROOTING FOR, THEY WILL SHUT UP. There is no easier way to shut the Stampede up than to go into thier gym and handle thier Bison's. Until then, learn to deal with it, it's part of the sporting world that fans are in right now.

Re: Bison Hoops?
i can always admit it when im wrong, and i was to have made such a rude comment about the kid in the front row. i was only lowering myself to their level . thank you for pointing that out to me! and you should reread my post, know where does it say that bedford fans were yelling at officials and know where did it say that ridge dosent do that .it wouldnt be a game without the officials taking some kind of ridicule.I SAID THE BEDFORD FANS WERE RUDE !!oh, and i dont quit get your thoughts on the cheerleaders, i cant remember any game that the cheerleaders were booed. i was a cheerleader myself in my days, and i dont ever remember ever getting booed . maybe im missing something at games then. our school does have a student section and they can be very loud and obnoxous themselves, but they are usually seated at the top rows of our bleachers. and they have enough cooth not to boo cheerleaders.and if they did i am quit sure they would be dealt with !!!!

Re: Bison Hoops?
Again, there was no booing of the Ridge cheerleaders. If you took offense to the chant, I'm sorry.
And maybe next game we'll sit outside and have someone open the windows to enable our uncooth voices to be heard.
