Did it matter? The reason this was not discussed earlier was that Westmont won the game.

It obviously didn't or doesn't matter if he's healthy for football playoffs and wrestling season.

I think a few years ago, a FH baseball player also was a track star. Of course, he played baseball most of the spring. In order to be eligible for districts in track (which determines if you go to states in track at Shippensburg), he had to participate in so many track events DURING the regular season.  Don't think you can just show up in district playoffs without playing somewhat (or at all) during the regular season.

Who cares??? Let the kid have fun :) its not illegal and i love the fact he was allowed to play. I know players who wish they could of run in cross country meets that werent allowed by football coaches. Id rather see high schoolers having fun then being focused as a 1 sport star

Difference is for track its individual based for district and beyond levels. You have to qualify yourself compared to a team sport where its not individually based

Well isn't track more individual based? Like you have to qualify for District's, right?

I assumed that there would be some rule about being on the regular season roster.

It the soccer team was having trouble with roster size before, I'd imagine they definitely will now. Imagine being the kid that showed up for practices and games all year and then sat behind a football player.

Aren't team "places" declared in track when district's and state's are over? And to qualify for districts as an individual, don't you have to participate in at least ONE regular season meet?

Those team wins are based off the points each individual of the school earns in that meet. Teams dont bring a full team to districts or state but instead the members that have qualified.
And yes they need to have a qualifying time from the regular season just like a football or soccer team qualifies for playoffs based on regular season performances

Did they include his tackle points from the soccer game in his stats?
