McCort???

Post by Colonel Mustard »

Has anyone else heard the rumor that McCort suited-up their star LB/RB for a soccer play-off game, even though he hadn't played a single soccer game all year? If this true, is that even legal?

I heard the same rumor. I heard he played about half the game.

How would it be illegal?

Soccer players kick for football teams all the time, it would be a similar situation. Doesn't mean it's smart, but it's not illegal.

If he was on the initial roster, yes it is absolutely legal that he plays 2 sports

Don’t know if he is on the PIAA submitted roster, but he is not on the roster for BMCHS that’s on Maxpreps

You don't even have to be on the initial roster, anyone can join at any time. You just have to do heat acclimation for 3 days, which he would have doen for football.

I'm just surprised the football coaches would be OK with it. The legality of it isn't what raises my eyebrows. Most coaches like to keep players to one sport, especially their stars. Wonder if McCort had injuries and were desperate? I know there are talks McCort may not field a soccer team in future seasons, so I'm guessing numbers could have been the issue.

Maxpreps shows BMCHS having 21 kids on the roster.

Yeah, could have been injuries then. Still surprising that happened anyway.
