This weeks basketball games
Re: This weeks basketball games
No one seems to be talking much about Meyersdale, Berlin, or Shanksville. All Westpac darkhorses?

Berlin is young but well coached. Meyersdale will be solid and so will Shanksville. Even Shade will be a tough out.Manfred wrote:No one seems to be talking much about Meyersdale, Berlin, or Shanksville. All Westpac darkhorses?

Crimson, Ferndale did play BG in the playoffs (the first game in BGs district championship run) and if I recall correctly it was fairly close at halftime but BG ended up winning by about 15-20. I was impressed with Hinton at the time but haven't seen him since. Like you said, they just might not enough talent around him to be able to contend this year.
I was at the H'burg/Altoona game last night. I was impressed with how H'burg looked. They appeared to be very fundamentally sound and pretty deep. They had balanced scoring and shot the ball well. Altoona is really a big, strong team (their starters were all between 6'2"-6'7" and appeared to be strong kids) but they really struggled on offense. The 6'7" Samuels kid played the PG most of the night and they just couldn't get anything going on offense, much of which appeared to be because of H'burg's defense. H'burg is going to be a tough out in the AAA playoffs if they play like they did last night. It is tough to get anything around the rim on them because the 6'7" Ottaway kid blocked several shots. For as big and strong as Altoona is H'burg more than held their own on the boards with them. Also the Adams kid for H'burg is a good all around player.

Saw Hinton only had 6 points last night against Portage. I didn't go to the game so was just curious if he had a bad shooting night or was doubled all night maybe ??? I'm not saying he's a world beater or all state or anything but definitely the best scoring threat on their team so maybe we threw the tall lanky Bryja on him defensively or Swank played lock down D on him.

They had a platoon of players guard him but Bryja and Swank were not those players.PortagePride wrote:Saw Hinton only had 6 points last night against Portage. Re: This weeks basketball games
Portage scrimmaged FH. From what I saw, Bryja liked to hang around the arc more than crash boards, esp. for a 6'5" guy.

Rangers - Crushers tonight. FH looking to make it 4-0, if McCort loses this one, could be a long season.
