Richland vs McCort

Post by Dfense wins games »

Surprised to see the limited amount of supporters from either side posting.

Maybe this is turning into a mature website after all?

I think the statistics are somewhat skewed based on BM's rout in their first 3 opponents.

I think it will be a tremendous game at the Point this Friday. Judging by the results of both teams coming from behind to beat Bedford the past 2 weeks, I think it is fair to say that these two teams will be evenly matched.

I think the Crushers may have a difficult time containing Rizzo while I think Leech (if he sees the ball into his hands) has the potential to have a huge game receiving.

I will take McCort by 3, with special teams being the difference.

Couldn't agree more DWG that special teams could be the difference. Cooper, Leech, and Wilson I think will each make some huge plays Friday night, and don't forget Spangler in that pass game either. But Richland also has the ability to make some big plays with Shaffer, Flick, Hanley, Rozich, and Solarcyzk. And the Crushers need to get that running game with Varga and Belskey going, maybe mixing in Wilson and Trexler. Rizzo could have a big night, the McCort middle 3 on the defensive line Roman, Rugg, and Barbin better come ready to control the line of scrimmage. And the linebacking crew of Dubovi, James, and Varga better be ready to tackle. The Crushers must do a much better job of stopping the run then they did against Bedford last week. In the end I think Richland does what they do best in close games, beat themselves, Bailey will be down by one score or less in the 4th and abandon the run like last year and that will do them in. But should be a great great game at the Point Friday. Crushers 31 Rams 28.

Richland wins this game by a touchdown. Rizzo is gonna have a big night. No one on that defense will stop him.

Gap Barbin will easily stop him.

What concerns me about this game the most, is that I see more people talking about the Fort Hill, Maryland vs. Ligonier Valley game more than this. What ever has this board come to?

From what I can tell from the outside looking in, the decline in posting started about the same time all the name calling and ranting started on various subjects by various people. It is only human nature that if a person cannot post without being inundated with negativity then it is just not worth posting.

From a Richland standpoint, the majority of what I read is biased against the school in geeneral and in particular the head coach. I could respond, but to what point? It is only going to feed it and lead to name calling and chest thumping. Better to just sit back and watch the circus.

BTW, the verb tense was incorrect from the beginning in that the first one is passive which is non-standard usage.

No offense but this board has been this way for years, there isn't anything new.

I am absolutely shocked by the lack of chatter, its McCort vs Richland for goodness sake! These teams hate each other, and have produced 3 nail biting classics in the last 4 years. And the year that wasn't a nail bitter was still a great game for 3 quarters, and a record breaking night, I'm shocked. Come on now people, like you said on the LHAC thread Crimson maybe after one loss all the Richland fans went back into hiding.

Where's the interest in McCort's next game? Years ago, there was nothing better than the Olympic games. Personally, I couldn't wait for the confrontation between the USA and USSR athletes. The USSR was our nemesis. They were the bad guys, we were the good guys. Day after day I watched with great interest the medal count between the two "cold war" enemies. I watched the events hoping WE would come out on top. Those were the days. But then, the USSR fell apart and things were never the same. Rooting against them was just not as much fun as it used to be. It's now to the point where I don't even watch the games. For me, the same thing has happened to Bishop McCort. Now that they are single A, they have become just another game on the schedule. You play them once, and that's it. You move on, win or lose. No more playoff battles. Sure, I still get on their case about some things, but caring if they win or lose means nothing to me. Going to some of their games is now out of the question. In the upcoming game, I guess I should root against Richland. It would benefit FH in the playoffs if Richland would not win on Friday. Otherwise, BM games are not the same. Alot of people no longer care about them. And that's the way it is.
