Who would you rather have if starting a baseball team?
Who would you rather have if starting a baseball team?
Mike Trout or Bryce Harper?
I would throw Cutch in the mix too but most of us would pick him. So let's focus on the two stud youngsters.

Trout.
I think will end up better then Harper on all fronts other then power.
Although they will prob. be the two best in baseball so either one would be fine with me.

Mike Trout. I like his speed, and what he can go into with his power. The kid is special.
Bryce will be a special player, I could see him turn into another Ryan Braun type. Trout, I see greatness.

They both seem so effortless at this game at such a young age.

Who would you compare Trout's ability to Ghost?

I've heard Ricky Henderson comparisons but I think Henderson had more speed and Trout more power.

Willie Mays has been thrown around, but that seems a little premature. Hendersen doesn't sound too bad either. I think he may be the player of the current generation.
Re: Who would you rather have if starting a baseball team?
Definitely Trout. Trout has a great compact swing and can hit to all fields with power and consistency. He runs exceptionally well, has a great glove, and a strong arm.
Obviously, Harper has many of the same tools as Trout. I'd say Harper has more raw power. However, he swings at a lot of bad pitches. As a hitter, Harper is more like Josh Hamilton than Ryan Braun. Pay close attention to what is happening to Josh Hamilton this year as you may eventually see the same thing with Harper.

When you said "build" a team around, I am presuming you meant younger players. In addition to McCutchen, I'd also throw in Buster Posey (Giants), Adam Jones (Orioles), Elvis Andrus (Rangers), Asdrubal Cabrera (Indians), Justin Upton (D-backs), Josh Reddick (A's), Giancarlo Stanton (Marlins) and Jay Bruce (Reds). All of these guys are 25 or younger except Jones (26) so from that perspective IMO they would be great candidates to build a team around.

I like the Harper comparison to Hamilton.
