Paterno Got Off EASY.

Post by WPIAL~Titan »

Paterno would have had the cuffs on him today along with Spanier. Obstruction of Justice, Child Endangerment, Failure to report child abuse, Perjury...ALL committed by the author of The Grand Experiment and Success With Honor.

I have said all along that one of the tragedies here is that the man behind all of this (Paterno) will never face justice. He got off easy by dying.

After having read the new Grand Jury presentment tonight, How in the world could Paterno, Spanier, Curley, and Shultz have been so arrogant to think they could ignore subpoenas for critical information and blatantly lie to a Grand Jury??? I guess anything is possible since they allowed and enabled a known pedophile to run wild on their campus for 15...20...probably FORTY YEARS. More proof of the PSU cult and closed society mentality that existed and continues to exist top to bottom.

If they would all lie about this, who is to say they wouldn't lie about paying players, fixing grades and graduation rates, etc.? Makes one wonder why PSU's leadership was so eager to accept the NCAAs unprecedented sanctions.

When will the Paternos be releasing another statement procliaming their patriarch's innocence?

Better yet, how long before Spanier, Shultz, and Curley throw Paterno under the bus (and rightfully so) to save themselves?

Please note the chain of command at PSU as follows:

Spanier was the President of the University and both Schultz & Curly reported directly to Spaniel.

Schultz was responsible for the entire University Campus Police department that had equal jurisdiction as the Pennsylvania State Police.

Curley was Director of Athletics and Paterno reported directly to Curley.

Paterno reported the matter directly to Curley as his direct supervisor and Schultz as Director of University Police Department. Joe Paterno reported it accordingly to his authorities and one needs to understand the laws when dealing with such matters that are highly confidential when dealing with child abuse. Overall this is a serious tradegy and should have never occurred at the degree it elevated to. Your statements about Joe Paterno are also unwarranted since the who truth has yet to be disclosed to date and Joe Paterno reported it correctly to appropriate authorities at PSU.

If Franco Harris cared that much about sports at chestnut ridge and Bedford county I'd feel honored.
