When it is all said and done will he be a Top 3 All Time player for the Pirates?
Stargell
Clemente
Wagner
Bonds
Traynor
Maz
Paul Waner (just did some reading on him)

Ralph Kiner too. Guy led the league in Home Runs 7 times for the Bucs in the 40's and 50's
Re: Cutch's status in Bucco history?
The top three is probably Wagner, Clemente and Bonds. If Bonds had played his whole career as a Pirate he would be number one. Cutch will never crack the top three. Clemente, Traynor, Wagner, Waner and Kiner were before my time. Most of Stargell's career was before my time as well. Maz isn't in the top ten, in my opinion, although again, he was before my time.
Has Cutch yet surpassed Dave Parker, Brian Giles, Jason Bay, Bobby Bonilla and Andy Van Slyke?

Bill Virdon. Matty Alou. Look at Gold Gloves as well as batting avg. and HR's.
It ain't over until it's over.

Re: Cutch's status in Bucco history?
To date as a 27 year old.
McCutchen has
1 MVP.
1 Gold Glove
2 Silver Sluggers
3 All Star Appearances.
I would say he can maybe be in contention for the MVP again, and will always be a threat for SS and GG. As far as All Star games go, Cutch will be a fixture there for a long time. So in that department, Cutch should have the hardware of a Hall of Famer.
Up through yesterday.
.296 career hitter. 107 career home runs. 859 hits. 130 stolen bases. 172 Doubles. 32 Triples. 479 Runs scored.
Not sure where he can take those stats? 3,000 hits? 300 Homers? 300 stolen bases? Maybe.

But of those 3000, 300, 300, how many will be as a Pirate?
And will he even get 1, let alone 2?

Re: Cutch's status in Bucco history?
Cutch will be in Pittsburgh for his prime years
This year his 27 y/o season.
2015
2016
2017
And club option in 2018 for his 31 year old season.
Assuming he won't be traded, that would give him 10 solid years in Pittsburgh, a career length worthy of looking at for great player status.
I would venture to guess, Cutch gets another extension offer. Hopefully it's lucrative enough to keep him around beyond 2018.
I think 3,000 hits would be an uphill battle, but maybe these next 3-4 years are his prime years and he starts putting up 200 hits a seasons. It will be fun to watch it play out.
