Top 10 College Football Stadiums you want to see

I love going to games in different places, and I want to hear everyone's opinions on where they would like to take some road trips.

I've been to Heinz Field, Notre Dame Stadium, Stanford Stadium, Spartan Stadium (Mich St), and Navy Marine Corps Stadium. So taking those 5 out of consideration...


1. Tiger Stadium LSU. A night game in the Bayou, looks like a blast.

2. Bryant-Denny Stadium Alabama. I would love to see how ridiculous some of their fans are.

3. Rose Bowl UCLA. The setting there looks incredible with the stadium right outside and the mountains. The RD Game itself would be incredible, but I'd settle for a UCLA home game.

4. Ohio Stadium Ohio State. I'd like to take in a game at the Shoe.

5. Lane Stadium Va Tech. That Enter Sandman entrance looks amazing.

6. Memorial Stadium Clemson. They do have the best entrance in college football, pretty crazy fan base too.

7. Memorial Stadium Nebraska. The came to Pitt a few years back, and every one of their fans were so friendly and nice, probably would be cool to tailgate with 90,000 of them.

8. LA Memorial Colisseium USC. So much history there, USC cheerleaders, tons of positives about this place.

9. Kyle Field Texas A&M. The 12th man would be a cool thing to see.

10. Husky Stadium Washington. Always hear how loud it is there, and the Seattle area seems real cool.

I knocked 1 off my list this year by seeing the blue field at Boise state!

1. Memorial stadium Austin, Texas!
2. Horseshoe Columbus Ohio
3. Big house Ann arbor, Michigan
4. Carrier dome Syracuse, new York
5. Bryant stadium Tuscaloosa, Alabama
6. Tiger stadium LSU
7. Trojan stadium USC
8. Rose bowl UCLA
9. Sun devil stadium, ASU

Great Topic and let me tell you what a group of six of us started 21 years ago?

We go on an annual College Football Mystery Trip. 2 of the 6 guys plan the trip. The other 4 have no idea where you are going, just what time they are getting picked up and what day/estimated time they are getting home. We rotate so that every 3rd year you and a partner are the trip planners. Costs are split among the group. After 3 rotations we decided that for year 10 we would vote and fly somewhere, we went to Austin, Texas. After that experience we decided we weren't getting any younger and that after every 3 year rotation we would, in year 4 vote on a longer trip. Year 14 was to Tucson, Arizona for a USC-Arizona game followed on Sunday by an Arizona Cardinals vs Rams game. Year 18 was to the Bayou and a WVU at LSU night game at Tiger Stadium. We are currently voting for our Year 22 trip this fall....Seattle, Boulder, CO, and BYU are the three sites on the ballot. In between we have been to:

1. South Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky and Auburn in the SEC
2. Clemson, NC State, Louisville, Boston College, Notre Dame, Wake Forest, Va. Tech, Syracuse of the ACC
3. Michigan, Indiana, Purdue, Wisconsin in the Big Ten
4. Memphis (The Year #1 Tennessee w/Peyton Manning was upset in the Liberty Bowl)

and I'm either missing one or it was the cancelled trip (9/1/01 attacks) that was scheduled for Michie State.

We've doubled our trips with a few NFL games, Baseball and Boxing.

For a young energetic crew, that might be an idea to duplicate......we have had an absolute blast with it and seen a lot of stadiums and universities. It's hard to pick a favorite, there are so many but I do love traveling to the south, personally. SEC fans are by far the wildest and the LSU experience is difficult to top.

I've also, on my own, been to a couple Bowl games, Tennessee, Navy and the local 4 (Md, WVU, Pitt, PSU) and to Akron.

Tops on my list right now are:
The Ga-Fla game in Jacksonville
a doubleheader in LA (USC & UCLA)
A Southern Bowl game tour of 3-4 games within a week

I've always wanted to see West Point's stadium

My parents have had Penn State season tickets since 1974 so I've seen a lot of college football games. However I haven't gotten the chance to go on the road, being that I was pretty young when my father would go to some of the road games for PSU. Only place I've been to is WVU and I was pretty little when that happened. Looking forward to going to Heinz field in 2016 for the PSU vs Pitt game, I feel that rivalry games are another level, especially when they haven't played in this long.

All that being said If I had to pick one destination in college football I've always wanted to go. It would have to be Camp Randall in Madison Wisconsin. Just seems like an overall incredible environment and people. A few other places I'd like to see LSU,Texas A&M,Oregon,Washington,UCLA just to name a few.

I remember you telling me that when we were in Hershey a few years ago,Head Roadie. I actually passed along the idea to some of my friends who are big college football guys and they loved it. Not sure when we are going to start doing it, but I think we will sometime in the near future. Our first stop will likely be an SEC game.


This year wouldn't really be "mystery trip worthy" but I'm trying to put together a trip to Boston for the Pitt-Boston College game. The game is a Friday night, and the Red Sox play Saturday. So, kill two birds with one stone on that trip.
