Trade deadline fantasy

Post by Eaglealum »

Ok. Let's hear em. My biggest want is Lee or Price but we know that's not happening. Here's a tunnel dream that probably won't happen, but has a tiny chance. Tulo. Makes too much sense to happen. But he will wave the no trade to go to contender, and your lineup becomes way scarier with him behind cutch and in front of Martin and Pedro .

I think a realistic SS that I would like to see them go after is Alexei Ramirez. Hes a cheapish upgrade and the white sox should be looking to move some older players at the deadline

Josh Bell and another minor leaguer for AJ and Jimmy Rollins.... Upgrade the startnig rotation and shortstop position and go for it all right now.

No way you trade Bell for these 2 . Do you realize Mercers numbers are real close to Rollins other than steals and about 13 million.

Mercer 272ab's 32runs , 6 hr , 27 rbi .254 ba
Rollins 329ab's 40runs , 8 hr , 32 rbi .240 ba.

Given the extra 57 ab's Mercer's numbers might be better than Rollin's .

Not a real fan of Mercer's but Rollins is not a big upgrade if at all.

Yeah, Rollins is past his prime, and Burnett doesn't do much for me either.

Rollins and Burnett are both proven veterans and know all about the playoff race and championships.

Where is Bell going to play if he would make it to the majors. Our outfield is set for years to come.

Bell is good trade bait, but he could also work his way into first base down the line if they choose to keep him. He's a bigger build of player.

AJ Burnett has a 6.37 career postseason ERA.

Don't want either, Rollins past mike Schmidt for a reason.... He's old. He's a name and a vet, not someone you plug into ss. They had great veteran presence with McGhee and Jones who have been the glue for the Marlins. After what Burnett pulled, I hope he gets dealt to San Diego... I'd hate to see him in gold n black

I don't really buy into the Burnett koolaid that many Pirate fans do, the fake bad boy persona got old quickly, on top of that he's not good in postseason, and not good against the Cards.
