Week 2 scrimmage reports #PIAAfootball

Post by Coach »

NB played Shade tonight. Shade looks like a team that will be pretty good again this year and is likely to win around 6-7 games. NB's Heck ran really well but the passing attack struggled. Shade played well up front and their defensive line gave us fits. They scored once on a busted play (I think they fumbled the ball and another guy scooped it and scored). Overall this was a pretty evenly matched scrimmage. We have some work to do before we open next Friday!

I hope everyone stayed healthy!

TM varsity 4-1 over Conemaugh township. TM broke several big plays.
Game rules for three quarters with starters.

Purchase Line and North Star played with real game rules and time. Starters played first half and back ups played second half. PL starters won 35 to 0 and North Stars JV scored 14 to PL's 0. Purchase Line's starters dominated the game.

FH over Westy, I believe like 5-0. "The Sheriff", a.k.a. Shareef Blough, was in town. 4 scores. Westy needs to return the Joe Flori single-wing playbook back to the Windber school library. They didn't get inside the 15.
It ain't over until it's over.

Westmont's playbook is shaky. They actually had a good QB and RB last year, but I think they held themselves back with their own playcalling.

Central looked better in this scrim. I believe it was 4-3 central varsity. My qb looks good. But can't carry team himself. Def looks like a qb battle at central. Both kids throw good balls. But the senior kid seems to be a better leader on the field and better decision maker. Next week with tm goona be a lot of points scored. Central D looked better after they made adjustments and stuffed the run.
