Pirates starting Morton over Worley

Post by footballguy99 »

What are the thoughts on this? Worley has been very good down the stretch. If Morton can pitch well, Worley is a nice option from the pen but I'm nervous about them doing this with just a few games remaining!

I don't have a problem with it. The middle relief has been shaky, with the exception of the new guy Holdzcom. I wouldn't have a problem with Worley and Locke alternating starts.
It ain't over until it's over.

If Morton is good to go, he should be in the rotation. period.

I agree with Ghost, Morton is top 3 in that rotation. IMO the odd guy out should be Locke. Worley is an add in guy.... I'd like to keep him down the line, but hey, use him while ya got him. It allows you to keep Lockes innings down. He's proven to be real good with a fresh arm, unfortunately he's worn down last two years.

Key words being "If Morton's good to go". If he's not 100% I don't think now is the time to "see where he's at". Every game is a must win going forward!

I would assume he is good to go, or else he wouldn't be starting tomorrow in such an important game. The Bucs will find out quickly if he isn't ready to go down the stretch. I agree, this isn't the time to test this kind of thing, so they must be confident he can pitch and give them 5-6 innings and a chance to win.

Charlie looked good tonight. I hope Cole looks that good Thursday night, I will be there with my son, since nobody jumped at buying the tickets from me.

I went tonight, originally spent $13.50 for a pair on stubhub. I walked into way better seats tonight 5 rows from the field down the line. Scalpers wouldn't even look at my upper deck seats, the game was fairly crowded, but not sold out.
