College Football Week 11

Can't believe we are this deep into the season.

Interested to see the rankings come out on Tuesday, and see if the SEC slant is still on.

Right now I would rank things like this

Undefeated teams

1. Florida State - Actually have a chance to be 13-0
2. Mississippi State - Have little to none chance of staying 13-0.


One Loss teams.

3. Auburn - they got lucky, but a win is a win. Still have road games with Georgia and Alabama.
4. Oregon - Road game with Utah this week, that's their toughest one yet. Probably will see Arizona State in the Pac 12 Championship.
5. Alabama - They have LSU, Miss ST, and Auburn left. That's rough. b
6. Michigan State - If they win this week, they are cruising into the B1G championship at 11-1.
7. TCU - If they get by K-State this week. At 11-1, they are going to be hard to keep out of the playoffs.
8. Kansas State - Still have 4 games left, 3 on the road, against ranked teams TCU, WVU, and Baylor.
9. Arizona State - Still have Notre Dame and Arizona to play yet, but they've played well this year.
10. Baylor - Still have to navigate through Oklahoma and K State in their final four games.
11. Ohio State - Big one with Sparty on Saturday.
12. Notre Dame - Still really haven't beaten anyone yet. Beating Arizona State on the road would fix that.
13. Nebraska - Bye week this week, than a tough one in Madison in two weeks. They could be 11-1 heading into a B1G game with OSU or MSU.
14. Duke - Obviously they aren't a great team, but they aren't bad either. 11-1 looks possible before the ACC title against FSU
15. Colorado State - They look to be a lock to be 11-1, but nobody knows or cares. They could be the non Power 5 to make a big bowl though.
16. Marshall - They are actually lower than 2 loss SEC teams.


Two Loss teams with a chance.

17. Ole Miss - SEC bias
18. LSU - Same as above.
19. Georgia - yep.



Some big games this week.

Baylor at Oklahoma
Oregon at Utah
Ohio State at Michigan State
Alabama at LSU
Kansas State at TCU
Notre Dame at Arizona State

If Michigan State played Eastern Illinois is week 2 instead of Oregon, they would be 3rd...I thought a "sales pitch" on this new system was it allows teams that play a strong schedule an advantage. Obviously that's still not the case.

It used to be if you lose early, it gave you enough time to make up ground later in the year. Didn't matter who the loss was to, but if it happens in September chances are you had room to breathe.

Now I wonder since there is a selection committee they will look at the "body of work" like they do in basketball.

If Todd Graham can score 70 on Notre Dame today, he probably will.

Texas has been playing much better the last couple of games and are looking like a Texas team today. Could give TCU some problems in a few weeks.

Notre Dame, Auburn, Kansas State and Michigan State can all kiss their playoff hopes goodbye! Alabama escapes to keep their season alive and sets up the big game next week with Miss State!

Looks like it's could end up being FSU, Bama/Miss St., TCU, and Oregon/Arizona St. that get in the playoff. If Alabama and Miss St both end up with one loss then things get real interesting and the debate will begin. Hard to keep a 1-loss SEC team out but it would also be hard to remove a 1 loss conference champ from the PAC-12 or Big 12. Who knows what they will do.

Assuming Oregon hangs on here, that will leave 10 Power 5 teams either undefeated or with one loss.

I would rank those teams

1. Mississippi State 9-0
2. Florida State 9-0
3. Alabama 8-1
4. Oregon 9-1
5. TCU 8-1
6. Baylor 8-1
7. Arizona State 8-1
8. Ohio State 8-1
9. Nebraska 8-1
10. Duke 8-1

(Marshall 9-0, Colorado St 9-1 have no chance)

Of the two loss teams...Ole Miss has a legitimate chance to hang in there if they finish strong, same goes for Auburn and Georgia most likely.
